The Florida High School Athletic Association State Championships tipped off Thursday in Jacksonville with two Class 2A semifinal matchups. With a trip to the state championship game on the line, several players stepped up with strong performances. Here is a look at some of the standout efforts from the Class 2A semifinal action.    The junior guard continued his strong postseason with a 15-point performance, including several key baskets down the stretch that helped secure the win for Victory Christian. Fuller plays with a strong feel for the game and consistently makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands. He showed the ability to effectively use ball screens, read the defense, and create plays for himself and others. With his poise, skill set, and continued production, Fuller is shaping up to be a highly coveted guard prospect in the 2027 class.     The senior leader for the Storm overcame a slow start and finished strong with 12 points, knocking down several key shots down the stretch. A high-level shot maker, he has the ability to step up in important moments and provide timely scoring. He also brings strong defensive ability, consistently competing and making an impact on that end of the floor. An unsigned senior who can also serve as a secondary ball handler, he offers valuable versatility in the backcourt.     It was another productive outing for McCalla, who finished with 11 points for VCA. The slightly undersized forward does an excellent job finishing around the rim, showing the ability to score with either hand. He uses his strength and toughness to carve out space in the paint, allowing him to be effective both as a scorer and rebounder. McCalla consistently brings physicality and effort, making him a reliable interior presence for VCA.     The unsigned senior big man delivered a productive performance, scoring 10 points for the Storm. Gol showcased his athleticism during a first-half sequence where he protected the rim with a blocked shot, sprinted the floor in transition, and finished above the rim. His ability to run the floor and impact the game defensively makes him an intriguing frontcourt prospect. With his physical tools and developing skill set, his best basketball still appears to be ahead of him.     The speedy point guard led the way offensively for Impact Christian in defeat, finishing with 16 points. Clark consistently put pressure on the defense with his quickness, proving difficult to keep out of the paint while also knocking down shots from beyond the arc. He showed the ability to create scoring opportunities for himself and keep the defense on its heels. An unsigned senior, Clark's speed and scoring ability make him an intriguing option for college programs in need of a dynamic guard.     Perez is a versatile combo forward who plays with a relentless motor and brings high-level athleticism to the floor. The unsigned senior impacts the game on both ends, using his energy and physical tools to guard multiple positions defensively. Offensively, he can knock down open shots from beyond the arc and is capable of finishing above the rim in transition or attacking the basket. With his combination of athleticism, effort, and positional versatility, Perez provides value in a variety of roles.     The big man for Impact Christian turned in an impressive performance Thursday night, showing the ability to score effectively on the block, particularly with a polished move over his left shoulder. He played with a high motor throughout the game and consistently made his presence felt around the paint. Defensively, he was active in the lane, using his size and timing to alter shots and protect the rim. With his interior scoring ability and defensive impact, he is a frontcourt prospect college coaches in search of depth should take a closer look at.
