The sophomore had a breakout season with West Salem, not only leading the Titans in scoring but emerging as one of the top bucket-getters in all of 6A at around 19 points per game. The guard showed the ability to score at all three levels and was very efficient in his shot selection and decision making. He plays with a toughness and confidence not often found in younger players.

McNary had a very balanced attack this season but if there was one senior that stood out it was Ricketts. Extremely versatile, he was still effective scoring inside but capably attacked from the perimeter and his ability to handle and pass the ball allowed him to often shift over to perform point guard duties. His length allowed him to be a factor both on the boards and defensively, guarding multiple positions.

The main candidate for league player of the year that comes from outside a pure scoring mindset is the senior point guard, who made his mark for a Top 16 ranked squad with his floor leadership and defense. He was once again one of the top assist men in all of 6A and one of the top perimeter defenders in the league, utilizing his motor, physicality, and competitiveness to his advantage. While not a huge scorer, he certainly put up points when needed for the league champs.

One of the top scorers in 6A, Scott was heavily relied upon by the Saxons and he consistently delivered 20+ points per game. A solid shooter and scorer, the future Oregon State catcher used his mature frame and physical style to effectively bully defenders going to the basket while also flashing a silky smooth shot from practically anywhere on the court.

Generally recognized as one of the top passers in the state, the senior point guard showed more scoring prowess this season as the Saxons needed it from him. He averaged 16.5 points, a mark that was actually higher in Central Valley Conference games. He accomplished this while still leading the high-scoring attack and also serving as a big factor on the boards, especially the offensive glass.
