Earlier this week, the 6A regional semifinal section of the bracket took place. Many competitive games took place, and several teams were one step closer to state, while the other few were sent home packing. Let's take a look at three 6A games I was able to watch: North Crowley/Coppell, Jordan/Shadow Creek, and Cy Springs/Mesquite Horn and what players stood out to me from these contests.

Marwane completely set the pace for the Warriors in their barnburner win over the Shadow Creek Sharks earlier this week. Fadika came away with a game high 27 points and showed that he can be a dual threat, both as a three-level scorer and a playmaker. Running the point guard slot for Jordan, he made sure that his teammates stayed involved and was instrumental in dishing the ball to open shooters and cutters for easy looks at the basket. One of the more dynamic 2027 guards, Marwane specializes in being a distributor but can also get a bucket when needed in crunch time.

Trey was a story of two halves on both sides of the ball in the dominating win for North Crowley over Coppell. The first half, Trey came away with 5-6 blocks and showcased that nobody from the opposition was scoring while he occupied the paint. He has good fundamental defense, not biting on pump fakes and going vertically to send shots away at the rim. The second half, Hall had several dunks that kept the momentum in North Crowley's favor, and he also operates good off the pick and roll as the screener. You can tell that Hall plays hard and has that extra edge to him where he treats every game like a playoff championship.

Tytin Hadnot played a very physical brand of basketball for the Cy Springs Panthers against the Horn Jaguars in the semifinals. Hadnot was aggressive going for loose balls and willing to sacrifice his body when it mattered most for extra possessions. He cashed in multiple opportunities at the free throw line, helping to increase the lead at critical times. He runs the floor well on fastbreaks and does not hesitate to crash the glass from the weak side for second chance opportunities. Hadnot came away with 11 points, 4 steals, and 7 rebounds to seal the deal in a 34-31 win for the Panthers over the Jags. Cy Springs moves on to play Grand Oaks in the next round.

Jaylen was a score-first guard for the Sharks in their close loss to the Warriors in the regional semifinal matchup. I was impressed by Addai's arsenal of dribble moves to get to the basket against multiple defenders and he finished with finesse or got fouled every time he made it into the lane. Addai is a hard cover for anyone on the perimeter with his shifty moves and quick trigger from deep. Addai is also a good defender who is not afraid to put intense physical pressure on opposing ballhandlers. This was my second time getting to watch him this year and his stock is definitely rising. Jaylen scored 17 points in the close loss to Jordan.

Fox was probably the most athletic player I was able to watch in their win over the Coppell Cowboys. Jonathan made tough plays on defense, intercepting the passing lanes and helping the Panthers convert into transition points as well as cutting to the basket for an easy layup or thunderous dunk over the defense. One play, Jonathan even completed a reverse alley-oop over a defender from his teammate and the crowd went nuts. Fox has insane leaping ability for a guard and can play either the one or two slot. He also buried a couple of three pointers in this game and was a good source of energy, both vocally and physically on the court.
