Recent Virginia Standouts – Class of 2026

Virginia's 2026 class continues to produce high-level talent across every region of the state. Several prospects are putting together eye-opening performances over the last stretch of the season. These players may not all be household names yet. However, their production and competitiveness stand out. Their upward recruiting momentum makes them must-track prospects moving forward. Here are a few recent standouts who have elevated their stock with strong play and consistent impact.

Jordan Cropper may be new to some recruiting boards, but his on-court production makes him impossible to ignore. An explosive, athletic slashing guard, Cropper thrives in transition and plays well above the rim. He combines that athleticism with efficiency. Recently, he posted a monster stat line of 30 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 blocks, and 2 steals. He shot an impressive 91 percent from the field. His ability to influence the game in multiple ways highlights just how valuable he is to the Arcadia team. Cropper is already the school's all-time leading scorer and brings a relentless motor every time he steps on the floor. He has 10 college offers in hand. This includes a recent one from Virginia Wesleyan and Monroe College. His recruitment is trending upward. As more coaches catch on to the immediate impact he can provide, his offer list should continue to grow.

Anthony Rosser is the type of player every coach wants in their program: tough, versatile, and unselfish. Rosser is a proven competitor. He spent the past two seasons with Team Loaded 804. He developed into a reliable forward capable of playing both the four and the five. He consistently flirts with double-double production and never shies away from physical matchups, often playing bigger than his listed size. Rosser brings an edge on both ends of the floor. He uses his strength and aggression to set the tone defensively. He also contributes as a scorer and rebounder. He is a capable ball handler and shooter, making him difficult to scheme against. As a leader for Thomas Jefferson, his effort and team-first approach stand out. His ability to score at multiple levels and guard multiple positions makes him an impact prospect at the next level.

Tai Bowler has quietly been one of the more productive guards in the area. He is also one of the more versatile guards over the past few seasons. Capable of playing either guard spot, Bowler combines athleticism with scoring ability and a strong feel for the game. Earlier this year, he turned in a 32-point performance. He lit it up from deep and showed he can score efficiently from all three levels. He has been a steady presence for Monacan, providing scoring punch and defensive length on the perimeter. Bowler is now officially off the board. He has committed to Christopher Newport University. It is one of the premier Division III programs in the country. He is versatile as a scorer. He can defend multiple guard positions. These skills should allow him to make an immediate impact at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459361' first='Caleb' last='Straughter'] continues to prove himself as one of the most versatile wings in the area, regardless of class. A smooth, skilled scorer with size and length, Straughter has been consistently productive while flying somewhat under the radar. He currently holds Division III offers. He also has a Division II offer from Virginia Union. His play suggests more could be coming soon. Straughter played a key role in Varina's recent win over an undefeated Highland Springs team. The final score was 67–48. He finished with 17 points and six rebounds. He is a confident shooter. He is particularly effective from the midrange. He uses his athleticism to create mismatches on both ends of the floor. Straughter had a strong summer with VA Havoc on the UA Rise circuit. He has continued that momentum into the season. He looks poised to come off the board sooner rather than later.

Closing Thoughts

The 2026 class in Virginia remains rich with talent. These recent performances only reinforce how deep the state is at the high school level. Jordan Cropper, Anthony Rosser, Tai Bowler, and [player_tooltip player_id='2459361' first='Caleb' last='Straughter'] each bring something different to the table. However, all of them share the ability to impact winning in meaningful ways. As the season progresses, recruiting will continue to intensify. These names are expected to stay in discussions. College programs are looking for production, toughness, and versatility in their next wave of prospects.
