Ted’s Takes: Best 3A Regional Finals

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Similar to our 4A list, here's some of my favorite 3A regional finals for this coming Friday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(2) East Peoria vs (3) Peoria - Ottawa Sectional</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two top 40 teams are set to square off in Galesburg at their 3A regional championship game. 2027 Illinois Commit Quinton Kitt is the #2 prospect in his class. He's put together a very strong junior season and came through in the clutch the other night. But it was Peoria who took their first matchup of the season in a tight 65-61 game. We should see something very similar this time around.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(1) Morton vs (4) Metamora - Ottawa Sectional</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The other matchup in this loaded 3a sectional. Metamora has been. a big threat in 3A over the last few seasons and have been in our rankings for many weeks. But Morton has yet to lose this calendar year which includes a win over Metamora last month. The Redbirds have a solid resume. But they might have met their match with the Potters.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(2) Champaign Centennial vs (3) Mahomet-Seymour - Mahomet-Seymour Sectional</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While Champaign Centennial beat M-S in their lone matchup back in December, it's Mahomet-Seymour that's playing better as of late. The Bulldogs are unbeaten since last January, while Centennial rode a 3-game losing streak before the state playoffs. Kamari Moore is an emerging freshman to watch at Centennial that's played well this season. This will definitely be a close game. <strong> </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>(2) Lincoln vs (3) Springfield - Mahomet-Seymour Sectional</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lincoln took down Springfield 44-43 at Lincoln earlier this season. This should be another exciting contest featuring multiple top 200 prospects. That includes top 100 2027 G Noah Wade out of Springfield. Winner will likely face Normal U-high in the sectional semifinal.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
