Guys to watch in the 2A State Playoffs

The OSAA class 2A state playoffs tip off tonight, with 8 games taking place around the state. While it seems that the Top 3 teams have separated from the rest of the pack, there are a ton of guys worth keeping an eye on over the next week.    Quality big men are often hard to come by at the state's smaller classifications, but Mitchell is one of several post players who has displayed the ability to play at the next level. The 6'8 Mitchell has the ability to play with his back to the basket as well as being an effective play maker facing the basket. He does a nice job of rebounding on both ends & is also one of the better rim protectors at the 2A level.     Regis has been knocking on the door of a state title for the last decade & if this is to be the year, Koehnke will be the one leading the charge. A solid floor general who runs the Regis offense at a high level. He has also shown the ability to knock down perimeter shots.     The 6'9 big man has continued to show regular progress & development as a post player. An effective back to the basket player on the offensive end to go along with high level rebounding & rim protecting abilities.     The third in the trio of college level big men still playing at the 2A level. Imhoff has come farther than just about any other player in the state in the last year or so. As he's grown into his body & developed athleticism, he's become a dominant force on both end of the floor. Trinity Lutheran enters the playoffs as the overall #1 seed, the ability of Imhoff to control the paint will go a long ways to determining if they will cut down the nets on Saturday night.     Much has been written about Kittleson, but we've always come away impressed by his willingness to sacrifice some of his personal numbers for the good of the team. Demonstrates a high basketball IQ, knocks down open shots at a high clip, & has developed into an excellent on ball defender. Easily one of the top 3 candidates for state player of the year at the 2A level.     Trinity Lutheran is blessed with depth rarely seen at the 2A level. He may not be their best player, but we'd argue their most valuable player is the point guard who makes them go. Does a tremendous job of running the team on both ends of the floor. Is effective at getting into the paint & creating quality shots for his teammates. Has also shown the ability to create his own shot when needed.     Athletic lefty wing that has shown the ability to knock down open shots, while also attacking the rim. We like him best on the defensive end of the floor, where his motor & ball pressure make Portland Christian really difficult to get quality shots against.     The crafty Silbernagel has picked up right where teammate Iasiah Koehnke left off last year. Koehnke, a 2025 Regis grad who finished his career in the all time scorer in Oregon history, has had his scoring void picked up by the 6'4 wing. The highlight of his season was a 58 point effort earlier in the month vs Kennedy. He's shown the ability to score from multiples spots on the floor, while also showing relentless effort on the boards, including a 20 rebound night.
