The Clark Chargers came out rolling and got ahead 18-5 after the first eight minutes of play. Shadow Ridge then found themselves in a bit of a hole the rest of the night, and their offense couldn't seem to hit shots or take care of the ball at times.

Clark however, was playing good, fairly clean basketball, and that made it tough for the Mustangs to keep pace.

I'm sure Shadow Ridge was hoping for something different in the second half, but guys like [player_tooltip player_id='2637173' first='CJ' last='Edwards'], [player_tooltip player_id='2418885' first='Devan' last='Christion'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2806939' first='Amir' last='Wright'] helped keep Clark in front.

The Chargers then had it pretty well wrapped up in the final quarter of play, finishing with a 66-45 win. They will go on to face Palo Verde in the NIAA 4A Southern Region Semifinals on Friday at 4:40 PM (at Foothill), while Shadow Ridge's season is now over.

[player_tooltip player_id='2418885' first='Devan' last='Christion'] caught fire in the first quarter for the Chargers, scoring off cuts, crashing the offensive glass for second-chance points, and attacking the rim with a pair of strong drives. The Shadow Ridge defense struggled to contain him early, and his production helped Clark build a solid lead. Christian also made his presence felt defensively, protecting the paint and recording an emphatic block where he pinned a shot against the backboard. It was a solid two-way performance, and he'll look to carry that momentum into the matchup with Palo Verde.

[player_tooltip player_id='2637173' first='CJ' last='Edwards'] mixed it up offensively, knocking down floaters and three-pointers. While also drawing contact on several quality takes to the rim. He played with noticeable assertiveness and showcased impressive body control, finishing tough shots even with defenders closing in. On the defensive end, he competed at a high level. And the collective effort from him and the other guards kept the Mustangs from ever finding a consistent rhythm.

[player_tooltip player_id='2806939' first='Amir' last='Wright'] was another standout for the Clark Chargers. He picked his spots well and got downhill a few times the way he typically does. Defensively, Wright was disruptive, applying steady ball pressure and limiting the Mustangs' space to operate. His energy and instincts made it difficult for opposing guards to turn the corner cleanly.

[player_tooltip player_id='2635516' first='Jaden' last='Williams'] turned in a productive outing for the Mustangs. He finished well around the rim early and later splashed in shots from beyond the arc. Defensively, he was playing hard and blocked a shot, but the Chargers' offense proved difficult to contain for much of the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='2673607' first='Demarion' last='Johnson'] was the second leading scorer for Shadow Ridge with 7 points. In the first half he drained a shot from the perimeter, and in the second half he had a couple of good buckets near the cup.
