While there have been quite a few freshman who have jumped on the national radar this season in VA, here's a look at 6 freshmen who are quietly making an impact that coaches should keep an eye on moving forward.

Niles Mason | 6'6” F | Steward School

Mason has been Steward's most consistent player so far this season, as the 6'6” hybrid forward has been doing it all and showing his ability to impact the game in winning ways across the board. The 6'6” forward plays with a great motor on the glass and on the defensive end as well, he creates mismatches with his ability to post smaller defenders and take slower defenders off the bounce, he's a midrange assassin who doesn't need much space, and he is relentlessly aggressive getting to the rim.

Demari Carter | 5'11” PG | St. Chris

Carter is one of the more talented guards in the Richmond area regardless of class, and while he still has some maturing to do he's had a great freshman campaign for one of the best teams in the Richmond area. The 5'11” guard is lightning quick with a great first step and great speed in transition, he is an athletic finisher with good hang time and body control, he can knock it down from deep and get to spots in the midrange, and he brings great toughness on the defensive end too.

Jeremiah Robinson | 6'5” CG | Trinity Episcopal

Robinson is one of two freshmen starters for TES, and he's gotten better and better throughout the season showing big time upside moving forward. At 6'5” he has great positional size and knows how to use it when he gets downhill to finish at the rim, he can work off the ball and is a good shooter and cutter to get open, he makes good decisions and uses his size to see over defenses and deliver good passes, and he has huge upside defensively with his size and athleticism.

Eli Quaye | 5'9” PG | LC Bird

Quaye is a super intriguing young prospect over at LC Bird, as he gets significant minutes as a freshman on a successful team that is loaded with guard talent. While he's only 5'9” he'll likely grow like his bother who stands 6'1”, he's uber talented skill wise with a tight handle and the ability to change pace and directions well beyond his years, he can score it efficiently off the bounce from multiple levels, and he has great instincts and feel for a player his age on both ends of the floor.

Jacory Moore-Carr | 6'1” CG | Thomas Dale

Moore-Carr has had a great start to his high school athletic career, as he was the starting quarterback as a freshman and is already being recruited by division one programs for that, and he plays significant minutes as the sixth man and sometime starter for the basketball team. He's clearly an athletic specimen who thrives in transition both pushing the rock and running the lanes, he is a good finisher through contact, he can knock down the open jumper and come off of screens, and he is a very good rebounder for his position and defender both on the ball and jumping passing lanes.

Maxwell Micki | 6'4” SF | St. Stephen's St. Agnes

Micki is the traditional young prospect that is right where he needs to be, as he's a raw but talented player with good positional size and a lot of room to continue to develop moving forward. At 6'4” he's a big wing who can put it on the deck and thrives in the midrange with his ability to rise up and knock down shots, he's a good rebounder for his position and is able to defend multiple positions, he continues to become more fluid and athletic, and he is just scratching the surface with how good he can be.
