James River continued its impressive run on Wednesday night with a convincing 77–54 win over Richmond School of the Arts. They improved to 13–2 on the season. This victory extended their winning streak to eight straight. From the opening tip, the Rapids looked like a team in complete control. They played with confidence and physicality. The team also had a clear sense of identity on both ends of the floor. Their balance stood out most. James River consistently outperformed RCSA in terms of size and athleticism. They combined this with experience and perimeter shooting.

Three players in particular have been central to the Rapids' success all season, and Wednesday night was no exception. Nolan Anthony, Bodi Corley, and Jayden Nichols each made their presence felt in different ways. This highlights how versatile and difficult this James River group is to game plan for.

Anthony continues to separate himself as one of the most reliable scorers in the area. His performance on Wednesday only enhanced that reputation. The 6'5 guard poured in 22 points. He also collected 8 rebounds and 3 assists. He consistently made the right reads while asserting himself offensively. What stands out most about Anthony is his all-around impact. He scores it at all three levels. He rebounds exceptionally well for his position. He brings a calm, high-IQ presence to the floor.

While his scoring ability often draws the headlines, his playmaking and feel for the game deserve just as much attention. Anthony sees the floor well, keeps teammates involved, and rarely forces the issue. He has been the leading scorer for a talented James River team all season. He has also put together multiple 20-point performances. As he continues to produce at this level, his stock should only keep rising. This is especially true as we head into the spring and summer. High-level Division III programs look for a versatile, dependable guard.

Corley is rapidly making a name for himself as one of the top big men in Virginia's 2027 class. This is evident when you watch him play. The 6'8 forward once again delivered a strong double-double. He finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. He was anchoring the paint on both ends. Corley plays with a physical edge and a high motor. He consistently runs the floor and finishes through contact. He creates extra possessions with his work on the glass.

Defensively, his presence is just as impactful. He alters shots around the rim. He rebounds outside of his area. He brings a level of toughness that sets the tone for the Rapids. Corley's combination of size, athleticism, and intensity gives him legitimate Division I potential. His consistency night in and night out makes him such a valuable piece. As James River keeps winning and Corley keeps producing, expect his recruitment to continue trending upward.

Nichols is undersized, but his game more than compensates for it. The 5'7 point guard plays with excellent pace, toughness, and confidence. He does a great job of controlling the tempo. He also puts pressure on the defense. He excels at getting downhill to create scoring opportunities for himself. He sets up teammates with smart, timely passes.

Nichols has fully embraced his role as the lead guard for this James River squad. He brings energy and intensity every time he steps on the floor. He can change speeds effectively. He reads defenses well. He makes plays off the bounce consistently, which makes him a steady presence in the backcourt. He may not draw immediate attention based on size alone. However, coaches looking for a high-IQ, competitive playmaker should absolutely have him on their radar. He finished with 13 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals in the game helping solidify the win.

Final Thoughts

James River's 77–54 win was a strong statement and another reminder of just how complete this team is. Anthony showcases scoring versatility. Corley excels with interior dominance. Nichols provides steady leadership at the point. Along with several other quality contributors, the Rapids have all the pieces needed to continue making noise down the stretch.

As the season moves forward, James River is a team college coaches should take seriously. They play the game the right way. They're winning consistently. Their underclassmen core is proving capable of impacting games at a high level.
