2026 Prospect Update: Class AAA New Names to Know (more)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We give you more new names to know from Class AAA, seven of them! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3510413' first='Colton' last='Betts'] of Chisago Lakes (6'0).  The Cats are an improved team this year and Betts being able to score a dozen a game and hit 37 percent of his threes has taken pressure off of players and opened the floor. Good team player all around. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3510394' first='Desmond' last='Gaines Jr'] of Robbinsdale Cooper (6'1).  Cooper has seven wins which is more than was expected and Gaines has been a big part of that.  He is a 17 point per game scorer that can get middle and use his deceptive length to find space and finish in a lot of different ways.  Very good body control with the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3510572' first='Abdi' last='Hasan'] of Sauk Rapids (6'1).  Hasan has been the go to scorer for the Storm all season and has had some big games in big moments.  A decent shooter, good to the middle, solid touch going to the rim.  One of the biggest surprises in Class AAA this year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3510405' first='Brenden' last='Sylvester'] of Grand Rapids (6'2).  A senior that is one of several players that has given GR depth and helped them push into the top ten teams in the state.  He is scoring 16 points a game and he does this with an all state motor (he is an all state runner naturally). </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3510425' first='Ethan' last='Thorsen'] of North Branch (6'5).  North Branch is a struggling team so Ethan might get overlooked but this 6'5 face up player is scoring almost 22 points per game!  He's had some big time shooting games including the six three point make game against Big Lake.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3510571' first='Dawson' last='VonRuden'] of Detroit Lakes (6'1).  Dawson is a future D2 football player most likely but this is a good athlete with a nice looking shooting stroke that has given his team several 20+ games.  VonRuden has to be located and if he is on, his team can score in bundles. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2417240' first='Jake' last='Winston'] of Holy Angels (6'4).  A forward that got the season going strong with 25 in a win over Blake, and 20 against Mounds View, he has also had recent good double figure games in close losses to rival Richfield and Columbia Heights.  Scoring 11-12 points a game and a top rebounder. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
