[player_tooltip player_id='1621536' first='Lance' last='Barnes'] led the way with 29 points, 8 steals, and 5 assists in Legacy Early College's win last Friday. He was clearly the best player on the court, as he often is, using his positional size, athleticism, and feel for the game to dominate it. Barnes was quite impactful defensively, as the stat sheet will show, forcing turnovers on the ball and in passing lanes. He was at his best offensively with a head of steam towards the rim, whether it was in transition, driving from the wings, or creating for himself off the dribble.

Connecting on a team-high two threes, including a big one to seal the win late, was Andreylen. His first three came on the opening possession of the game, which created driving lanes for him whenever he had the ball on the perimeter. Craig was also active as a cutter and in running the floor in transition, but he wasn't perfect finishing around bodies. He did, however, earn multiple trips to the free-throw line and was active around the offensive glass. Craig finished with 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals in the win.

Stepping up off the bench on Friday night for the Lions was Swofford. He chipped in with 11 points in the win, with seven of them coming from the line on nine attempts. Bowen's two made field goals were both mid-range pull-ups, one of the most trusted moves in his bag. He also showed some good things as a passer, racking up 3 assists as he found both cutters and shooters. The free-throw line has been a deficiency for Legacy at times this season, so if Swofford continues to step up as a guy whom they can trust, he will earn more minutes in tight games.

Nico was the leading scorer for Legion Collegiate Academy in their 73-56 loss, putting up 21 points. Byrd erupted with 5 3PM in the second half, keeping the Lancers close with tough shot after tough shot. He can hit threes off the catch when actions are for him or create pull-up looks off the dribble out of nothing. Nico also has a good feel for playing through contact and getting to the free-throw line, as he was 6-6 from the stripe to go with the prolific outside shooting.

Legion's Freshman Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3450635' first='Sebastian' last='Torres'] rounds out my evaluations in this week's Wednesday Film Room. Sebastian added a lot to the Lancers' offense off the bench because of how balanced he is as a playmaker. The lefty was just as efficient getting to the rim and finishing as he was setting up his teammates for open looks, and he even drew a charge in the post against a bigger guard. Torres finished with 11 points and 5 assists in the loss.
