Freeman continued its unbeaten run on Tuesday night. The team improved to 9–0 with a hard-fought 51–44 win over Glen Allen. The game was physical, competitive, and playoff-level from start to finish.

This Freeman group is quietly putting together one of the best seasons in program history. When you watch them in person, it's easy to understand why. Their roster is balanced. They have physical toughness and size inside with [player_tooltip player_id='2898030' first='Abram' last='Schrinel'], Drew Nunally, and Bennett Friday. [player_tooltip player_id='1489544' first='Alex' last='Blanchard'] and Quentin Sullivan are guards who can score and create. Include quality bench contributions from shooters like Grayden Thouron. With these players, you have a team that can hurt you in multiple ways.

What stands out most is how hard this group plays. Every possession matters. They defend, rebound, and make the extra pass. Head coach Chapin George and his staff have done an excellent job blending the pieces together. They put players in spots to succeed. Freeman plays connected basketball, and with the way they're trending, a deep playoff run feels very realistic.

Schrinel continues to look like one of the top players in the 804. He has picked up right where he left off and he is building a strong case as a Player of the Year candidate in Region 5C. His versatility is evident on both ends of the floor. He has been the steady leader Freeman has leaned on all season.

Schrinel impacts the game in every way imaginable. He can score inside and out, and he does a great job handling the ball as a guard while also posting up with strength. Additionally, he creates his own shot when the offense needs it. Glen Allen threw multiple double teams at him throughout the night. He handled the pressure with poise. He scored when he wanted. He made the right read when help came.

Defensively, he's just as impactful. His length and instincts allow him to excel as an on-ball defender. He consistently bothers shooters and takes away space.

Schrinel finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. He shot 50% from the field and a perfect 100% from three. His summer experience with Team [program_tooltip program_id='2416185' first='Loaded' last='804'] 17U against older competition is clearly paying off. He looks stronger and more confident. He is also more prepared for physical games. His stock continues to rise, and college coaches at all levels should have him firmly on their radar.

It's becoming harder to understand why Blanchard is still available. Even while recovering from injury, he has demonstrated his status as one of the best point guards in the area.

Blanchard is a tough, college-ready guard with a strong frame who thrives playing through contact. He can finish inside. However, his calling card is his shooting. When he has space, he doesn't hesitate. More often than not, the ball finds the bottom of the net.

He's been a major reason for Freeman's success this season, providing consistent scoring, leadership, and control of the game. Blanchard is a high-academic, high-character guard. He would make an immediate impact at the next level, particularly at the Division III level. He should be near the top of college coaches' lists.

Quentin Sullivan | 6'0 PG | 2027

Sullivan may be a new name for some. He's quickly established himself as one of the top young point guards in the region. He stepped into a bigger role when Blanchard was sidelined and hasn't looked back.

The lefty guard plays with great pace and feel. He excels at getting downhill, knocking down pull-ups in the midrange, or finishing at the rim. Defensively, he's disruptive — reading passing lanes, jumping gaps, and using his speed to turn defense into offense.

Sullivan is one of the fastest players in the area. He continues to grow as both a ball handler. He is also improving as a facilitator alongside Blanchard. As the season goes on, expect his name to come up more often.

With the win, Freeman continues to prove it is one of the top teams in the region. The team shines as league play ramps up. At 9–0, the Mavericks have shown they can win in multiple ways. They can win whether it's a fast-paced scoring game or a physical, grind-it-out battle like this one. If they continue to defend at a high level, Freeman can succeed. Consistent production across the lineup is crucial. This will provide Freeman with all the necessary pieces. These pieces are needed for a team built for a deep postseason run. As the schedule toughens and playoff positioning comes into focus, this group looks more than capable of handling the moment.
