I spent a week at the annual Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas. The prep division kicked it off for a few days followed by the CIF/AIA division for 4 days. Some elite teams around the country battled it out and here were some of the standouts I watched.

Here were the PG/CG Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='2201960' first='Rashad' last='Robinson'] Skyline Prep (Pictured)

A physical framed CG who likes to attack the basket. He can hit the three but loves to dribble drive to the basket. He can make plays for his teammates and plays a lot on the ball with drive and kicks and dump offs. He just moved in from NJ at Hudson Catholic.

[player_tooltip player_id='1464982' first='Miles' last='Sadler'] Bella Vista Prep

One of the top PG's in the country has skill and speed for days. He is incredible in the open court and will throw up the court passes. He made some tough shots in the lane off the glass with either hand, he will hit the three with deep range and he will split defenders easily to the basket. His defense typically leads to offense. The West Virginia commit has his team as a top-5 team in the country currently.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323290' first='Mason' last='Magee'] Basha

The heart and soul of the Bears showed his talents off on the week. He will dribble past his initial defenders at will with his breakneck speed and finish, he will hit the three, score with runners and contact takes. He will collect steals in bunches which led to dunks on the other end. His passing truly stood out along with his suffocating defense versus some nationally ranked guards. One of the top AIA players made the All-Tournament team, which is a very prestigious honor over the years. Look for Magee to play early at San Francisco.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595670' first='Ikenna' last='Alozie'] Dream City

The Houston commit is tough to handle with his dribble drive thru the contact, fall aways, pull-up threes, dunks on the break and he will create his own separation and pull-up from mid-range. He is a good passer up the court and he can defend multiple positions with a big motor and wingspan.

[player_tooltip player_id='994689' first='Noah' last='George'] Bella Vista Prep

A bigger combo guard can play on or off the ball. He has next level athleticism and he is a very good on-ball defender. He has a polished mid-range pull-up and he projects out as a 3 and D type. He has athletic finishes in traffic and he is a plus passer. He verbally committed to NAU.

[player_tooltip player_id='2241513' first='Lyris' last='Robinson'] Bella Vista Prep EYBL

One of the top-tier two-way guards in the class. He makes it very difficult to score on him with his size for position, lateral quickness, length and athleticism. He will score with perimeter jumpers, dunks on the break and get on the glass better then most for his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='2223522' first='Kolby' last='Barnes'] Perry

A long scoring lead guard with some size defends multiple positions using his quickness and length. He scores getting to the basket with a nice burst and will hit the three off the catch. He got hot in this contest and rattled in four triples.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146175' first='LJ' last='Diamond'] Perry

A hyper athletic scoring lead guard who will drive and kick and he had some needle threaders in traffic. He happened to have one of the best dunks of the weekend as he went coast to coast and took off further than you would assume and piped it down surprisingly in fine fashion. He will hit the deep three and get downhill but it was his passing that stood out as he made every read you can make in this game.

[player_tooltip player_id='3259747' first='DJ' last='Charles'] Canyon View

An undersized pure point guard with speed. The ball is on a string for him and he is a good passer with advanced court vision. He changes speeds well and then will burst past his defender. He will also hit the three off the catch. He is quick on defense with his fast hands and feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='2173760' first='Keaundre' last='Morris'] Dream City Christian

A combo guard who is one of the easier shooters in the class. He will pull-up from the three or catch and shoot it and drill it with a quicker trigger. He is quick on the ball defensively and more athletic then he appears as he will dunk above the rim on the break after he picks his opponents pockets.

[player_tooltip player_id='2698739' first='Dereon' last='Smothers'] Phhoenix Prep NSPA

A bigger size combo guard can play on or off the ball. He will drive and kick it as a good passer with advanced court vision. He will score with downhill drives using his size and handle and hit the three off the catch. He moved in from Chicago.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276223' first='Kingston' last='Montague'] Basha

A scoring combo guard who keeps improving as a passer with some pocket passes threading the needle. Also his on-ball defense is picking up as he was collecting many steals per game. He will score with threes off the catch, bursts to the basket plus floaters and reverse layups.

[player_tooltip player_id='1724929' first='Hayes' last='Kinney'] Canyon View

A scoring combo guard can fill it up with catch threes and transition buckets. The lefty can get past his initial defender and finish in the lane. He can read a court and play some on the ball but is best in the scoring opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id='2960993' first='Dalen' last='Felder'] Phhoenix Prep NSPA

A scoring lead guard who can seamlessly play on or off the ball. He can set the table for his team but is wired to score. He will fill it up with threes off the catch with range beyond the stripe and has a very hard to cover mid-range pull-up he likes to utilize. He is crafty to get to the basket and brings big confidence to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1763220' first='Devin' last='Sanders'] Canyon View

A senior leader who plays hard and is a gamer. He will make smart reads and will throw up the court passes perfectly. He is steadily improving as a catch and shoot three point type and can get hot quickly. He defends with a motor using his speed and lateral quicks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2674058' first='Zion' last='Woods'] Skyline Prep

A long and lean good sized scoring lead guard had a good showing. The Kellis transfer scores with mid-range pull-ups, which may be his sweet spot, threes off the catch with a quicker trigger and he can get to the basket with long strides.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956478' first='Ty' last='Ingram'] Skyline Prep

A good sized combo guard who is wired to score. He will fill it up with threes off the catch, mid-range pull-ups and has some toughness to get downhill to the basket. He will make some plays for his teammates and he plays hard on defense.
