Apex Friendship High School played host to Jordan High School in what was a tightly contested matchup between two of the top teams in the area. Apex Friendship was able to establish control early with [player_tooltip player_id='3162970' first='Landon' last='Henke'] as they established a double figure lead heading into the half. Jordan was able to flip the script in the 3rd Quarter, scoring 32 and giving themselves a 6 point lead headed into the fourth. In the fourth, Apex Friendship settled back in, executed, and made timely shots. They found a way to come out with a 73-65 victory. Let's take a look at some of the standouts!

Henke recently committed to Randolph-Macon and it's easy to see why the D3 powerhouse would be all in on the Apex Friendship Forward. Henke is a strong and physical interior presence that has really improved his athletic pop in recent months making him a real load to deal with on the inside. Henke runs the floor with real purpose and is often rewarded for it by his teammates when they find him. He's got a great set of hands, high quality footwork, and has shown the ability to hit the occasional shot from the outside. Henke was really involved offensively early on to establish Apex Friendship and was able to make timely plays down the stretch to help secure the win for his team. Henke finished with 17 Points in the win.

Sumpter was a consistent scoring and playmaking presence for Jordan throughout the entirety of the game and was a huge part of that 3rd quarter run with his active pressure defense. Sumpter is enjoying a really nice season for Jordan, averaging 12.3 Points, 4.1 Rebounds, and 2.3 Assists per game, all on 39/31/70 splits. Sumpter had a heavy load on his plate in this one but was able to make shots and find teammates to keep Jordan in the game and give 19-1 Apex Friendship a real scare on the road. He's got good size for a guard that can play on the ball, deep range, and a ton of confidence. Sumpter finished with 16 Points in the narrow defeat. As Jordan continues into conference play and the playoffs, Sumpter could prove to be a quality late next level option for programs looking for guys that can come in and score the basketball.

Green has been a supremely consistent PG in NC's 2026 class as long as he's been on varsity at Apex Friendship. He can make outside shots, control the game, and single handily deal with pressure from the opposition. Early on, Green did a great job finding [player_tooltip player_id='3162970' first='Landon' last='Henke'] down low and kicking out to a scorching hot [player_tooltip player_id='3437814' first='Jackson' last='McNally']. As the game progressed, Green began to call his own number with more frequency. With Apex Friendship down heading into the 4th, Green got more aggressive, scoring 7 of his 13 points in the final frame of the game. Green is a no brainer next level talent that should garner more and more recruiting attention as he's been a massive reason behind this special 18-1 start for Apex Friendship.

Diaz is a really high quality catch and shoot option for this Jordan team and really helped swing the game in their favor during that monster 3rd quarter. Diaz knows how to space the floor and has a high quality shooting form allowing him to make shots with consistency. He finished with a trio of made threes, all in the 3rd quarter en route to a 15 point performance. On the season, Diaz is averaging 10.7 Points, 2.3 Rebounds, and 1.0 Steals per game on 50/42/56 splits. He's been incredibly efficient for this Jordan team and has provided great supplemental production for this group all season long. Shooting is one of the most translatable skills in basketball, Diaz is a proven shot-maker.

Speaking of shooting, McNally absolutely caught fire from beyond the arc in the first half for Apex Friendship allowing them to build a necessary cushion heading into halftime. McNally has deep range, a quick trigger, and moves really well without the ball to make himself available on kick outs. He finished with 21 Points on 4 made 3s with all of them coming in the 2nd quarter. McNally is an emerging shooter in NC's 2027 class and will definitely find himself ranked in that class within the state soon. Expect McNally to have a few more games where he swings them for Apex Friendship when they need it most.
