Friday night we took in a clash in the Southwestern Conference as Belleville West hosted Edwardsville. In the early going Edwardsville got out and it remained a pretty low scoring game with the Tigers holding the lead for most of the contest. Belleville West came back to take the lead then the stars went back and forth as Edwardsville [player_tooltip player_id='2277698' first='Miccah' last='Butler'] and Belleville West's [player_tooltip player_id='2458187' first='J'dyn' last='Lloyd'] traded buckets in the final minutes. Edwardsville came out on top 44-41!

Butler Among Better Uncommitted Wings in 2026

Edwardsville star 2026 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2277698' first='Miccah' last='Butler'] came up clutch in this one. He is a big time three point shooter and drained four of them in this game with none bigger than a pin down in the corner to take the lead for good. Moves well without the ball and has such a free and easy shot. Comes out of his hands looking like it is going in every time. Also put his head down for couple buckets on a sweeping layup late along with a nice post up spin move. Went for 17 points. This is the type of prospect that D2 programs should be all over as shooters with size are a commodity!

Devyon Hill-Lomax is going to Mizzou as one of the top wide receivers in the state, but he brought them a ton of energy early with his play above the rim. Threw down dunks on lobs and tip slams. Also a nice high/low finish for 8 points. [player_tooltip player_id='2749981' first='Rowan' last='Weller'] brought his toughness as the 2027 wing notched 6 points. Love the passing and high IQ out of [player_tooltip player_id='2962216' first='Brady' last='Niemi'] who also hit a couple threes for 6 points. Great get at the small college level. Matthew Wilson is a 6'2” 2029 prospect to keep tabs on as the thick framed wing made some big plays on a couple of jumpers one from 15 feet off a baseline out of bounds play and a wing three. Also passed it pretty well.

Lloyd Carries Belleville West Most of Night

Belleville West relied heavily on their star 2027 wing [player_tooltip player_id='2458187' first='J'dyn' last='Lloyd'] in this game. Strong and athletic wing did the majority of his damage in the paint. Won on straight line takes finishing with his off hand, revers layups, shot fakes for drives, and used his physicality in the post for scores down low playing bully ball. He scored 17 points. Class of 2028 power forward [player_tooltip player_id='3454780' first='Amauri' last='Fenton'] continues to intrigue us. Fenton will debut in our sophomore rankings update next week. Bouncy four that is at his best getting on the offensive glass and protecting the rim. He had 6 points. Senior guard Micah May poured in several jumpers en route to 9 points.
