Iverson Classic: Top 2028, 2029, 2030 Standouts

The Iverson Classic once again provided a strong preview of the state's future talent, with a number of underclassmen delivering standout performances throughout the weekend. From advanced skill sets to high-upside physical tools, several young prospects showed they are already trending toward becoming college prospects. Here's a look at the top performances from the event.    The sharp-shooting sophomore erupted for 33 points — including 10 made three-pointers — in a win over Westminster Academy, showcasing elite perimeter production. Barnes has good positional size, excellent shot preparation, and a quick, repeatable release that allows him to get shots off cleanly. With perimeter shooting always in high demand, he's a young prospect college coaches should be tracking closely.     Colbert is an impressive young lead guard prospect who continues to show advanced poise for his age. The freshman scored 23 points in a win for The Rock, controlling tempo and playing with excellent pace without getting sped up by defenders. He finishes well through contact at the rim and is making steady progress as a consistent perimeter shot-maker, adding to his long-term upside.     Another one of the state's top pure shooters, Wallhoff knocked down nine three-pointers across two games in Middleton this weekend. The coach's son has a very quick release, understands how to hunt his shot, and uses screens effectively to create space. As he continues to add strength and develop physically, he projects as a prospect with the potential to rank among the best in the state's 2030 class.     Another Westminster Academy backcourt member who impressed was the 6'3" junior guard Edwards. He brings good length, can function as a secondary ball handler, and is difficult to keep out of the paint. An above-average athlete, he continues to improve as a perimeter shooter and adds value on the defensive end with his activity and versatility.     The sophomore was a standout on Saturday, scoring 17 points in an overtime loss to SLAM Miami and emerging as one of the day's pleasant surprises. The 6'4" wing is a high-level athlete with good length who showed the ability to score at all three levels. He moves well without the basketball and consistently puts himself in position to make plays. King is clearly a 2028 prospect worth tracking going forward.     Slater is a talented combo forward in the state's freshman class with intriguing long-term upside. The 6'6" athlete shows a solid midrange skill set, can attack from the perimeter, and finishes effectively at the rim. He rebounds well and is capable of grabbing and going to start the break, while flashing playmaking ability for his size. That blend of skill and versatility makes him a prospect worth following closely.
