Iverson Classic: Junior Standouts

The Iverson Classic Blackout Signature Series took place Friday and Saturday at The Villages, delivering 29 games and a weekend packed with high-level competition. Featuring many of the state's top teams and prospects, the event showcased standout performances across multiple classes. Here is a look at some of the top performances from prospects in the junior class.    One of the nation's top guards in the junior class, Barnes continued his strong play by averaging 14 points over two games for the Golden Bulls. He brings high-level ball skills, quickness, and athleticism, consistently creating problems for opposing defenders. Barnes can keep defenses honest with his perimeter shooting and also possesses the vision and skill to function as a high-level playmaker.     The high-scoring left-handed guard finished with 17 points for the Bears on Friday, continuing to establish himself as one of the top perimeter prospects in the 2027 class. Moss brings high-level quickness, deep shooting range, and a strong feel for the game, making him a constant threat on the offensive end. He also shows playmaking ability and plays with confidence, allowing him to impact the game both as a scorer and creator.     While his offensive numbers don't always reflect it due to the talent around him, Martinez looked the part of a high-level prospect this weekend. The New York City native has a strong feel for the game, is a reliable perimeter shooter, and can create his own offense off the bounce. He's comfortable scoring both off the catch and off the dribble, giving him versatility as a perimeter scoring threat.     The DME product is trending toward high-major status and has established himself as one of the state's top frontcourt players in the junior class. Kabongo is a strong, athletic, high-motor big man who finishes consistently around the rim and rebounds effectively at both ends of the floor. He also shows the ability to stretch the floor with occasional perimeter shot-making. His mobility and athleticism give him a clear advantage on the defensive end, allowing him to impact plays beyond the paint.     One of the most talented prospects in the 2027 class, Robinson Jr. scored 23 points in a loss for Pine Ridge while showcasing his high-end upside. The junior possesses a rare combination of size, length, athleticism, and scoring ability that separates him from his peers. He has made significant strides as a perimeter shooter and is comfortable taking — and making — contested jump shots. When paired with his physical tools, Robinson Jr.'s offensive skill set gives him as much upside as any player in the state's junior class.
