On Tuesday, Jan 6th I attended the match-up of 6A Hamilton Huskies hosting the 6A Liberty Lions. Both teams will be in the 6A playoffs and can make a run in the playoffs depending on match-ups.

I checked out all three levels with Freshman, JV and Varsity.

Here were the standouts on the night

Freshman Game (87-60 Liberty won)

[player_tooltip player_id='3314926' first='Liam' last='Herkal'] Liberty

A scoring guard has a pure stroke from the three point line with a nice build. He can score it in traffic using his strong frame but his catch and shoot three is money. He is crafty to score it in the lane and get to the line. He scored 24 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3314813' first='Kade' last='Schneberger'] Liberty

A long armed guard with a strong frame is a plus rebounder with his long arms. He can shoot it from the three point line and get a step on his defender to get downhill. He will score with offensive rebound put backs and back door cuts but this kid is a gunner. He scored 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3314781' first='Kalil' last='Deloatch'] Liberty

A highly skilled post player is a tough cover. He has some strength and girth and can score with mid-range jumpers, contested layups, polished hook shots, reverse layups and the lefty has a soft touch on his free throws. He is a strong two-handed rebounder and a good passer out of the double team. He scored 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3314876' first='Alex' last='Hunter'] Liberty

A pure point guard who will consistently drive and kick it perfectly into a teammates shooting pocket. He will thread the needle and he is a super unselfish teammate. He will score with drives and perimeter jumpers. He racked up maybe 5+ assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='3075509' first='Isiah' last='Bronner'] Hamilton

A tough guard/wing is a two-way player. He will take it coast to coast and get downhill better then most freshmen. He will score with euro steps, reverse layups and he will hit the catch three. He is a sneaky good passer and a phenomenal on-ball and help side defender. He scored 31 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3075504' first='Tahj' last='Storey'] Hamilton

A defensive point guard who will collect steals and block shots. He will score it getting downhill with a tight handle, score with offensive rebound put backs plus hitting the three off the catch. He will drive and kick it and slip it into a teammate. He also played on junior varsity. He scored 5 points on JV and freshmen games.

[player_tooltip player_id='3314983' first='Kyle' last='Williams'] Hamilton

A long scoring guard is very fast in the open court and will score with pull-ups from mid-range and threes off the catch. He can defend multiple positions, rebound the ball and collect steals. He scored 10 points.

Junior Varsity Game (88-42 Hamilton won)

[player_tooltip player_id='3075631' first='EJ' last='Sharpe'] Hamilton

A scoring combo guard will fill it up with downhill takes, catch threes and he takes contact really well on the break and in traffic with multiple and-1's. He is deceptively athletic and can rise up over the defenders with floaters and rebounds well. He scored 15 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2692800' first='Jayden' last='Wong'] Hamilton

A skilled combo guard can make plays for his teammates and score it. He will hesitate and get to the basket and he is also quick to the basket and will kiss it off the glass. He will hit the three off the catch and moves the ball like you should. He scored 7 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='3075634' first='Dylan' last='Pedroia'] Hamilton

A jack of all trades guard/wing makes every read and on every single play. He certainly just knows how to play and makes smart reads to teammates. He scores it with offensive rebound put backs, layups in transition and bursts to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2640542' first='Jordan' last='Brock'] Liberty

A scoring guard/wing who can shoot the three with deep range. He has a very smooth release with a quicker trigger. He is also sneaky elusive to the basket with either hand and he is a smart player. He looks to be a floor spacer at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='3142053' first='Jesse' last='Onuh'] Liberty

A long fluid guard/wing is a good passer and defender. He moves really well in space and can defend multiple positions and will rebound and collect steals. He moves gracefully down the court and runs well. A nice prospect to keep an eye on.

Varsity Game (61-60 Hamilton won)

[player_tooltip player_id='1768202' first='Marquice' last='Cole Jr'] Hamilton (Pictured)

A combo guard had a phenomenal night with floaters, dunks, downhill takes with tough shots off the glass, tough euro steps in heavy traffic and will in and out to the basket. He attacks in transition like his life depends on it and he had a game winning dunk. He will also drive and kick it to make a play and he is an incredible rebounder. He scored 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2109038' first='Nate' last='Tainsky'] Hamilton

A scoring guard is taking the reigns a little more as he ages. He is turning into a combo guard making players around him better but he will still score it. He fills it up with floaters, corner threes, downhill takes with a burst, dribble drive hook shots and top of the key threes off the catch. His game is expanding playing more and more on the ball. He scored 15 points with a few assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='2107154' first='Cameron' last='Clayton'] Hamilton

A wing forward who was a true threat from the perimeter all night long. Cole would not have had the success he had if it wasn't for Clayton's success from the perimeter. As Cole drove the lane, Clayton was there with his threes off the catch (he made three) and make a couple tough drives in traffic. He scored 13 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146291' first='Jake' last='Steele'] Hamilton

A versatile Swiss Army Knife for the Huskies plays and defends multiple positions for them. He rebounds exceptionally well in and out of his area and he will even block shots. After he grabs the rebounds and will score it in traffic with layups. He will also hit shots from mid to the three point line off the catch. He scored 10 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1736172' first='Keegan' last='Colter'] Liberty

A bigger scoring guard is a two-way defender. He will defend multiple positions from the 1-3. He will score with corner threes, tough take to the basket, offensive rebound put backs, transition scores and layups. He scored 10 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2257790' first='Nicholas' last='Topolosek'] Liberty

A strong framed scoring combo guard who can play on or off the ball. He is a natural scorer but he can defend his position. He will rattle in threes with high level elevation on his attempts. He scored 12 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591734' first='TJ' last='Harris'] Liberty

A quick on quick scoring point guard with incredible speed in the open court, which was unmatched in this game. He can score with deep three point range and jet to the basket. He will facilitate with drive and kicks and will collect steals and lay it in. He scored 6 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2282925' first='Jacob' last='Hunter'] Liberty

A strong framed scoring guard was the main go-to guy all night long. He scored with dribble drives in traffic, spin moves in the lane, post ups with good footwork for a guard, hook shots with his left or right hand and elusive takes thru the contact. He is also a sneaky good passer. He scored 19 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2345479' first='Milton' last='Phinnessee III'] Liberty

A massive post player was a dominant force in the paint all night. He dominated the glass and gobbled up 10+ rebounds and scored with offensive rebound put backs with his sheer length and size. He will block shots and score with hook shots or get to the free throw line. He scored 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759176' first='Trevin' last='Davis'] Liberty

A bigger wing forward is the teams stud sixth man. He comes in and will play and defend multiple positions. He will rebound well in his area and hit the three off the catch. He may be their centerpiece sooner rather then later in the near future.

On Tuesday, Jan 6th I attended the match-up of 6A Hamilton Huskies hosting the 6A Liberty Lions. Both teams will be in the 6A playoffs and can make a run in the playoffs depending on match-ups.
