Given the quality of the opponent, this is one of the best impressive games any player in the state has had this season. Rice, a Nebraska commit, was fantastic on both ends of the floor against the Maroons, showing exactly why Fred Hoiberg wants him to suit up for the Huskers. With his blend of length, IQ, and talent, he impacts the game on both ends of the floor on nearly every possession.

2026 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2204885' first='Marcele' last='Whitner'] (Mason City) -- 33 points (10-15 FG, 5-8 3P, 8-8 FT), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal [vs. Ottumwa]

One of two Riverhawks in this article who had massive games against Ottumwa, Whitner's length and athleticism were impossible for the Bulldogs to contend with. He was feeling it from the 3-point line, knocking down five 3-pointers, over 20% of his season total, en route to a massive 33-point outing.

2026 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2413554' first='Kyle' last='Smith'] (Marshalltown) -- 32 points (11-13 FG, 8-10 3P, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals [vs. Cedar Rapids Jefferson]

Smith was on fire from the 3-point line against the J-Hawks, burying eight 3-pointers en route to 32 points. As if his shooting wasn't good enough, he also pulled down 12 rebounds, finishing with an impressive double-double.

2026 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1172887' first='Tevin' last='Schultz'] (Senior) -- 30 points (12-15 FG, 4-6 3P, 2-3 FT), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block [vs. Valley]

One of the most dynamic scorers in the state, Schultz was fantastic against an overmatched Valley team, scoring 30 points on 80% shooting. His combination of size, strength, ball-handling, and shotmaking make him nearly impossible to defend at this level.

2027 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2114707' first='Karson' last='Rains'] (Linn-Mar) -- 27 points (9-11 FG, 6-7 3P, 3-4 FT), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block [at Xavier]

After playing well as a role player last season for the Lions, Rains is in the midst of a breakout junior year. Arguably his best performance of the season to date came last week against Xavier, scoring 27 points on incredibly efficient shooting.

2027 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2396064' first='William' last='Rahe'] (Cedar Rapids Washington) -- 25 points (12-22 FG, 0-4 3P, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block [at Waterloo West]

Rahe was awesome against Waterloo West, finishing with a double-double and showing the ability to attack the rim routinely off the dribble. He finishes well through contact around the rim, is fearless on the glass, and can create for his teammates.

2028 SG Joshua Charlotin (Southeast Polk) -- 14 points (4-12 FG, 0-1 3P, 6-12 FT), 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks [vs. Valley]

Charlotin will make a pretty lofty debut in the 2028 rankings when they are updated in the next few weeks. He's a really impressive athlete who can score from anywhere on the floor, is dynamic on the glass, a talented playmaker, and a versatile defender. All of those things were on display against Valley last week.

2027 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2906539' first='Jameer' last='Falls'] (Mason City) -- 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-6 3P, 1-4 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal [vs. Ottumwa]
