Here are 3 quick observations from the Saints' win:

Good 4th for Huggins

Sophomore forward [player_tooltip player_id='2194485' first='Joshua' last='Huggins'] scored at will in the 4th quarter, mainly getting easy layups at the rim. Christian Brothers lacked the size on the inside to contain him as he poured in 11 points in the final 8 minutes. In the fourth quarter, Briarcrest was able to stretch its lead to 21 thanks to Huggins' solid outing. The 6-foot-6 forward converted on 3 3-point plays in the fourth quarter. Early on in the contest, Huggins, who led the way with 21 points, displayed his ability to make shots from the 17-feet out. He's been everything the Saints have needed him to be this season.

Good 3rd for Smith

[player_tooltip player_id='1760996' first='Fred' last='Smith Jr']. had a solid third quarter, scoring 8 of his 17 points to help Briarcrest build a 51-35 lead. Like Huggins, Smith was scoring with ease at the rim while finishing through contact. He was active on the glass and running the floor well. Once the Saints built their double-digit lead, they were on cruise control. Smith was the driver before Huggins took over the duties in the final 8 minutes.

Good start for Spight

Junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2283268' first='Greg' last='Spight'] got off to a good start, scoring 7 of his 12 points in the first quarter. In the first half alone, Spight did a good job of getting into the lane, knocking down floaters, and finding Huggins and Smith for uncontested layups. He took good shots within the flow of the offense. Spight didn't need to be spectacular. He just needed to be solid. Spight was just that.

Side note: [player_tooltip player_id='1658056' first='Parker' last='Pounds'] didn't have his best scoring performance, which is okay since Spight, Smith, and Huggins were in a groove. But, the 6-5 shooting guard was active and alert on the defensive end, recording key blocks in the first half. Pounds finished the night with 8 points.

Senior guard Andrew Storey was a plus on offense in the first half, scoring 9 points.
