There have been a lot of players taking the junior jump this season, and many of them being guards who are a bit overlooked for one reason or another. Here's a look at six Richmond area guards that are on the come up and coaches should take a look at!

[player_tooltip player_id='3275793' first='Obi' last='Pinn'] | 6'2” PG | Godwin

Pinn has been nothing short of fantastic for Godwin this season, building on a good sophomore season and emerging as one of the best guards in the RVA area. The 6'2” lead guard does a little bit of everything but really stands out with his decision and playmaking, he can score the ball in a variety of ways and does so efficiently, he's a good rebounder for his position, and he just makes winning plays on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='3275794' first='Hasaan' last='White'] | 6'0” CG | Glen Allen

White has quietly been very good in Richmond particularly in his AAU time with Team [program_tooltip program_id='2416185' first='Loaded' last='804'], and now he's took the reigns for a very good Glen Allen group and is leading them on what could be a historic run for them. While he's only 6'0” White is a big and strong guard who can get downhill and finishes well through contact, he pushes in transition and is a good playmaker, and he does a lot of little stuff as a defender and rebounder as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2624544' first='Chris' last='Lamm'] | 6'1” PG | Benedictine

Lamm is exactly the type of floor general that coaches always say they want, as he can run the show and is a natural leader who is also highly skilled at the lead guard spot. He controls the game with his pace and ability to direct traffic and control the tempo, he has great feel and vision as a playmaker who can deliver pin-point passes in traffic, he is excellent in ball screens, and he exudes toughness with his scrappy style of play.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470591' first='Jaylen' last='Tyler'] | 5'10” PG | LC Bird

Tyler has been the straw that stirs the drink for the Skyhawks who have been off to a surprisingly good start to their season, as he leads their uptempo system and gets their shooters open looks regularly. The 5'10” lead guard is great in their press with his ability to pick up full court and read passing lanes, he uses his quickness to push in transition and blow by defenders, he makes great reads when he gets in the paint, and he plays with a great motor on both ends too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2898028' first='Joel' last='Nicholson'] | 6'2” PG | Hanover

Nicholson is quietly having a fantastic season for Hanover, putting up big numbers and showing why he's an underrated guard that coaches should be looking at with his size and skillset. The 6'2” guard has great length and uses it to finish at and above the rim when he gets downhill, he changes speeds and directions well in isolation and in ball screens, he can knock down open shots, and he's a good point of attack defender too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2898023' first='Christian' last='Tabb'] | 6'2” CG | Grace Christian

Tabb transferred to Grace Christian and reclassified after spending last year at Manchester, and he's been perhaps the breakout player in Richmond as he's been on a burner putting up huge numbers this season. The 6'2” combo guard is a big time athlete who can get out in transition and play above the rim, he's super shifty with the ability to create space and knock down tough off balance jumpers, he plays with a great motor on both ends, and at the rate he's improved he's someone coaches should definitely be looking at.
