There were a handful of prospects that moved up in the latest 2027 Tennessee player rankings.

Here are the prospects that moved up:

[player_tooltip player_id='2413439' first='Jayden' last='Jordan-James'], Arlington: James made the biggest leap in this update. He moved up 27 spots to No. 29. James has been a complimentary piece in the Tigers' backcourt with guard [player_tooltip player_id='2655029' first='R.J.' last='Tate'], who moved up 8 spots to No. 11 and is the team's leading scorer (17.1 points per game). James can score the ball and doesn't shy away from contact. He plays with great energy, wants to compete, and shows his competitiveness each time he gets a stop or scores a timely basket. James' numbers dictate the success he's had at Arlington, averaging 14.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 47 percent from the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766781' first='Christian' last='Bright'], Green Hill: Bright moved up 3 spots to No. 25. He's a 6-foot-5 wing that's willing to do everything on the court. Bright can score at all 3-levels. He's a good defender. Bright can rebound the basketball at a good clip to be a wing. Outside of [player_tooltip player_id='1770256' first='Jack' last='McChurch'], Bright, who's averaging 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game, is the other guy on the roster that's going to end up in double figures after each contest. He's been consistent this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2575799' first='Walker' last='Redding'], Cookeville: Redding is another prospect that's been solid so far this season. He moved up five spots to No. 24. Redding is worthy of being inside of the top 25. On the defensive end, he can alter and block shots at the rim. Redding has good hands, always tend to be in great position to force a turnover. He can make shots from the perimeter and has good touch around the rim. Against a talented Warren County team, Redding had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. In a win over York, the 6-7 forward finished with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and a block in 16 minutes. Redding will always find a way to be productive.

[player_tooltip player_id='3353427' first='Austin' last='Jones'], Red Bank: Jones has had a highly productive season for the Lions. He sits at No. 69 and could see another boost if he continues to play well. He's a really good athlete. Jones finishes well around the rim, runs the floor hard, and sits down on defense. As of January 19, 2026, Jones is averaging 17 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. His career high is 41 points. He's been playing at an All-District level this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2684683' first='Samuel' last='Plourde'], Beech: Plourde moved up 15 spots to No. 70. He's a 6-5 wing that can shoot it from 3-point range. Plourde finishes well around the rim, plays solid defense, and hits the floor for 50-50 balls. The Buccaneers are 16-2 (5-0 in 4A District 7) with Plourde contributing alongside [player_tooltip player_id='2869668' first='Cole' last='Winters'], Mari Bowman, and [player_tooltip player_id='2439013' first='Cutter' last='Sisk']. Beech are in the 4A state title bubble because of these four guys.
