2026 Louisiana Basketball Rankings: Key Players to Follow

It has been six months since our last rankings update and here are some of the major movers in the class. Whether through standout performances, expanded roles, or simply taking advantage of bigger stages, each of them has reshaped their trajectory in a meaningful way. Their recent surge isn't a accident. This is the result of refined skill sets, improved consistency, and the kind of competitive edge that turns potential into production.    First and foremost the big man reigns supreme and holds on to his spot as the top player in Louisiana. He is leading ASH right now and playing with supreme poise and confidence. He is a prototype for next level success and his star will continue to rise. He is a walking double double dunking machine with a soft mid range tough and respectable three ball. Duncan can do it all. Respect to the #1 player of our Louisiana 2026 Class.     Turpin jumped over 40 spots to claim his position as one of the top players in the state. His growth from summer to now is a testament of hard work, dedication and sacrifice. Turpin is one of the most gifted scorers in the state, but he is also an elite playmaker. The baby-faced assassin is what old school folks call showtime. He is potent, efficient and just special with the ball in his hands. Whenever he is on the court, there is a chance to win. Coaches, scouts and recruiters looking for a next level talent with even more upside need to stop and watch Turpin.     Golmond is a hardnosed competitor that plays the game with a chip on his shoulder. I am not sure what he does best after watching him play a few games, but one thing for sure is that he is a bully on the court. Golmond is the type of player that is impossible to plan for because his game is built on defense and intimidating the best player on the other team. He is tough on both ends of the court and there is always a dawg fight if he is on the court. He is a prototypical Louisiana guard and coaches looking for an alpha need to check out Golmond.     Bordelon made a big leap to the top 25 because he checks all of the next level boxes and still has a high ceiling. Bordelon can give you a 35-point game or turn around and give you a 15-rebound game. His game is complete, but his athleticism sets him apart from a lot of his peers. He is a true three level scorer and his ability to score from the baseline makes him special. Quick jumpers are always impressive, and Bordelon plays above the rim. He is playing with a ton of confidence along with being more aggressive which makes ASH one of the scariest teams in the state.     Bernard jumped over 100 spots and it is all because of vigilance, determination and consistency. I only had to watch him play a couple times to see that he loves the game and that is what earned him an opportunity to play at the next level. Outside of his fundamental skill, he is a high IQ servant PG. He utilizes his team mates to the best of their abilities and highlights his scoring abilites in the creases of the game. Selfless, poised and proficient with a great on court demeanor wins EVERY time.    We are just getting started with analyzing some of our new and improved 2026 prospects.
