Jake is one of the more intriguing young guards in the program and a player whose confidence continues to grow. He is a high-IQ scorer who stretches defenses with his three-point shooting while also showing the ability to score at all three levels. He understands spacing, reads the floor well, and rarely looks rushed for his age. What separates Cloud is his feel for the game, as he knows when to hunt shots and when to let the game come to him. As his body and assertiveness continue to develop, he projects as a long-term backcourt cornerstone capable of taking on increased responsibility.

Brodie is the ultimate matchup problem. He is a versatile forward who can stretch the floor with his shooting, who also brings unique value as a ball-handler capable of pushing the break and initiating offense. His comfort level handling the ball allows Section to play fast and create mismatches in transition. Defensively, his ability to guard positions one through five gives the Lions flexibility in their coverages. He can switch, contain guards on the perimeter, and battle bigger bodies inside. His versatility is key to Section's identity and one of the reasons they can adapt to different styles of play.

Jackson is the steady veteran presence every successful team needs. He is a reliable three-point shooter, who spaces the floor and punishes defenses for over-helping. He also thrives in pressure moments, and has shown his ability to step to the line with confidence late in games and make huge shots. As a team leader, Jackson sets the tone on and off the court with his communication and understanding of situational basketball. His experience and calm demeanor are invaluable in tight games and postseason settings.

Jackson impact goes far beyond numbers. He is playing through a torn ACL, and has reinvented his role from primary ball-handler to versatile contributor who finds ways to affect winning every night. His toughness, adaptability, and selflessness embody what Section basketball is about. He is a vocal senior leader who provides direction, energy, and accountability. He defends, moves without the ball, communicates on both ends, and does the little things that hold lineups together.

Tyler is the table-setter for the Lions. He may not pour in a lot of points, but his value lies in decision-making and controlling the pace. He consistently puts teammates in advantageous positions, keeps the offense organized, and understands tempo. With the ball in his hands frequently, he makes the right play more often than not whether that is swinging the ball, attacking a closeout, or finding the open man. His unselfishness and poise allow Section's scorers to play freely and confidently.

The Lions have defended better than expected, and that defensive growth has elevated their ceiling. Combined with a fast pace of play and a roster full of players capable of stepping up on different nights, Section presents real challenges for opponents.

“We've defended better than we thought we would this year. We have multiple guys who can step up in different games. We typically play at a fast pace. If we can stay healthy, we have a shot.”

Health and cohesion will be the swing factors, but the blueprint is there. Section's balance, versatility, and improved defensive commitment give them the tools to make a deep run.

The Section Lions enter the back half of the season as a team that has quietly built a dangerous formula for postseason success. With a blend of high-IQ guards, versatile forwards, veteran leadership, and improved defensive buy-in, Section has shown it can win games in multiple ways. This isn't a one-man show, this is a group capable of rising on any given night, a trait that makes them a legitimate threat in the post-season. They are not a flashy squad, as they are functional, fearless, and flexible. With smart guards, a versatile forward leading the charge, and role players who understand winning basketball, the Lions are built to compete when the margins tighten. If they stay healthy and continue to defend at a high level, don't be surprised to see Section playing meaningful games in Birmingham.
