The Top Five Monday Night Stars

There were another 20 games in Minnesota last night and it was a great chance for players like [player_tooltip player_id='2823917' first='Gunner' last='Liebl'], [player_tooltip player_id='2126171' first='Gabe' last='Staloch'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2417085' first='Javaun' last='Watson'] to stand out!   Dawson-Boyd won a national title last season and the size was noteworthy but equally as important as guard [player_tooltip player_id='2823917' first='Gunner' last='Liebl']. Last night in the game of the night in Minnesota high school basketball, Liebl led his Jacks to a one score 79-76 win over rival RTR. Liebel put up 38 points with a dozen rebounds and five assists. Liebl took over late with a pick six lay-up, an attacking score, another attacking scores, and then big foul shots and rebounds late.   Robbinsdale Armstrong and Robbinsdale Cooper are rivals from the same school district. They opened their season last night with Armstrong and Cooper facing off and the Falcons earned the win 63-59. Leading the way was [player_tooltip player_id='2417085' first='Javaun' last='Watson'], a 6'3 senior forward. Watson worked his tail off to grab 11 rebounds and score 19 points leading his team to a big rivalry win.   One of the most noteworthy three sports athletes in the junior class is [player_tooltip player_id='2126171' first='Gabe' last='Staloch']. This six foot athlete plays quarterback for his Blooming Prairie team, he's a shortstop and pitcher on the baseball team, and he is the playmaker for the basketball team. Staloch had 29 points with three threes leading the Blossoms to a 73-56 win over Glenville-Emmons.   Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton beat Minnesota Valley Lutheran 78-48 and [player_tooltip player_id='2386616' first='Gavin' last='Bauer'] was once again at the forefront leading his team with 28 points. Gavin and his brother Dalton were relentless in their rim pursuit combining for 50 points and this well coached JWP team showed why they are a top five level team in Class A.   Six foot senior Clayton Schoepski and six foot junior Bridon Bahl, these guards led Fillmore Central to a win over Schaeffer Academy in a 79-72 win. Both of these upperclassmen guards scored twenty points in the game and both helped playmake with multiple assists to help the team earn the win.
