There were plenty of talented young players in the Class of 2029 putting in work for their respective teams. Here is a look at those kiddos.

Keon Griffin Jr (Lift for Life): The 6'2" guard scored a game-high 14 points in the overtime victory over Lutheran North. He is a smooth slasher with excellent length and athletic ability. He is so fluid in how he moves that folks don't realize how explosive he is until he is at the rim dunking the ball. He also creates for others when he is slicing in the lane as he had some impressive drop offs for layups. He also plays the passing lanes well on the defensive end.

Shaan Hopson (St. Mary's): A 6'0" guard who was one of the revelations during the four games that I watched. It was the first time I have seen him and I was impressed with his poise and fundamentals in a fast-paced semifinal game against Lee's Summit North. He had a couple of nice tip ins on the offensive boards. He handled the ball and made a few nifty passes. He also knocked down a Corner 3-pointer late in a close game. He played well at his own pace.

Tristen Short (Lift for Life): An athletic 6'1" guard who plays with a lot of energy and who brings excitement when he enters the game. He knocked down a 3-pointer on one of his first touches. He also had a couple of acrobatic finishes in the lane with body control. He moves his feet well on the defensive end while applying some tenacious pressure.

[player_tooltip player_id='2887650' first='Stacy' last='Sorrell'] III (CBC): The 5'10" point guard has gotten out of the gate quickly with some excellent offensive performances to start his career. He has a couple of 20-point outings to his credit. He was limited by foul trouble in the semifinals against Webster Groves, which interrupted his flow. He did knock down a pair of 3-pointers. He has good fundamentals as a ball handler and passer and he can also score it off the bounce.

Tamez Carter (Lift for Life): A 5'10" point point guard who scored six points in a pair of 3-pointers from well beyond the line. The young lefty is quick and is fully capable of getting downhill on dribble penetration. He is a very good on-ball defender who can harass opposing ball handlers the full length of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918986' first='Jamoni' last='Harris'] (CBC): A 6'3" forward who has a very solid build and who plays the physical game around the basket. He is undersized, but he uses his strength and tenacity to get results. He was very good in his minutes against Webster Groves as he converted a pair of offensive rebounds for buckets. He also drives well to get into the lane with two feet to finish with power.

D'Yomi Pool-Ivery (Jennings): A 6'3" forward who showed some impressive things on the interior against John Burroughs. He got a touch on the first play of the game and he converted a nice turnaround jumper off the glass. He was fluid and his footwork was good. He was also active on the boards and he ran the court very well. He is a young player that bears watching; especially with his length.

[player_tooltip player_id='2919847' first='Porsche' last='Jarriett'] (Lift for Life): A 5'10" guard who has excellent speed and quickness. He used those attributes well to shoot the passing lanes for steals and transition layups. He was also operating well along the baseline where he was able to finish in traffic.

Cy Levoy (John Burroughs): A 6'0" shooting guard who came off the bench to provide instant offense in the Bombers victory over Jennings. He scored 11 points while showcasing his nice shooting stroke from 3-point range. He hit a pair of triples and he also attacked the close out with a nice dribble drive move to the elbow for a mid-range jumper. He played with a lot of confidence and poise.

[player_tooltip player_id='2516886' first='Milton' last='Proctor III'] (CBC): An athletic 6'1" guard who is an excellent athlete, which enables him to also excel on the football field. One thing that jumped out was his quick burst when he went on the attack. He can lull a defender, then he just turns on the acceleration and he's at the basket in a blur.
