Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the talented Class of 2029 kiddos who made an impression at Saturday's Midwest Showdown Shootout, which was held at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. The event was presented by Ramey Basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2887650' first='Stacy' last='Sorrell'] III (CBC): The talented 5'11" point guard scored 20 points in the Cadets' convincing victory over Memphis Business Academy. He plays with a smoothness and poise that belies his young age. The young lefty is a smooth ball handler and playmaker in addition to his scoring. He can handle the offense and he can also play off the ball as a scorer. He can score on quick penetrating drives or knock down 3-pointers.

******

Ronald Johnson (Mt. Carmel): A 6'3" point guard who is a talented young player who will be a building block to continued success for the Caravan. He has good height and the handles to break down defenders with multiple escape moves in his bag. He finds open teammates on the penetrate and kick and he can also score with the float game. He also hit the high-arching 3-pointer.

******

De'Kylen Heard (Mt. Carmel): The 6'5" small forward is another impressive young player that the Caravan can build its future around. On one of his first touches, he knocked down a catch and shoot 3-pointer off of dribble penetration. He also scored on an impressive spin move in the lane in tight quarters. He is also an excellent athlete who was attacking the boards at both ends of the court. His quick second jump enabled him to collect a few offensive rebounds and putbacks.

******

Emaurion Johnson (East St. Louis): A 6'4" shooting guard who is a future standout in the Flyers' program. He has good size and athleticism and a good set of fundamentals. What I liked about him was how he was moving the ball with a nice, crisp chest pass. He also ran the court and got a transition bucket and he knocked down a smooth 3-pointer from the wing.

******

[player_tooltip player_id='2918956' first='Brayden' last='Harris'] (DeSmet): A 5'11" point guard who is getting some valuable minutes off the bench for a DeSmet team that is one of the best in the state in Class 6. In the victory over Mt. Carmel, he got more comfortable as the game went on. He really handles the ball well and he scored on some nice penetrating drives in the second half. He is smooth and his pace is good in the open court. He definitely has a bright future with the Spartans.
