While the basketball season here in New Mexico is still fairly new some of the players are already standing out. These players are making impacts on both sides of the ball early in the season. Each player has made different contributions to their teams but one thing is for certain they are all competitors. Some players are using their IQ while others are using force over finesse.

[player_tooltip player_id='2111672' first='Caden' last='Miller'] is a high energy two way player. He is a player that can be looked upon for three point shots. Caden heats up in a hurry and when that happens he has no problem looking for his own shot. When you try to take the three away from him he has the ability to get to the paint and throw it down for an easy two points. Caden is very good at seeing the court to not only to find open spots for his shots but to get the players around him involved. On defense Caden's speed and IQ are on display not only to keep players in front of him but to play the passing lanes well. Offensive players have a hard time getting to their spots when Caden is defending them.

Zac Borrego was on a mission this week against Belen. Zac was able to use his defense to get his team going early in the game. He played hard nosed defense all game getting steals from the help side and disrupting passing lanes. Turning defense into offense he was able to run the floor hard and make good decisions. He had good vision all night getting his teammates involved and finding soft spots for open shots. Not only was he able to hit a three pointer under pressure but was able to put the game away with a steal to easy layup.

Brian Nnanna is a physical and energetic player who uses his strength well. His physicality makes Brian a strong rebounder who is able to fight for positioning and get easy put backs. Brian's strength caused problems when facing Belen due to his ability to draw fouls. Brian uses his high energy style of play to fight for rebounds from the beginning of the game till the final whistle. After missing a free throw he fought his way in the lane to get a steal and easy bucket. His strength is not his only attribute to speak about but his leaping ability was on display blocking a shot off the backboard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1717250' first='Hunter' last='Aime'] is a big who can use his soft touch to get easy points around the basket. When needed Hunter is not afraid to rise up and dunk off of an assist. He is a very patient player with the ball who rarely looks rushed by the players around him. For instance when breaking a press Hunter uses his patience and height to get the ball up the court. Hunter is good at swinging the ball and not holding onto it for too long. Defensively he can get multiple blocks in a game and sometimes multiple blocks in a quarter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2175829' first='Dylan' last='Lansing'] is the type of player who stuffs the stat lines. He gets a few stats all across the board. The stat that sticks out the most are his steals. Dylan uses his quickness and endurance will during games. These attributes allow Dylan to get in the passing lanes and then push the pace for his team. When pushing the pace in transition he uses his vision to either get his teammates involved or get easy bucket. Dylan can also score the ball as well going 7-11 against Shiprock and 8-16 against Wingate.
