Expert Analysis
Joel Nunez | Prep Hoops Scout
Zac Borrego heads into the playoffs with confidence after earning First Team All-District honors. When Zac is playing with confidence, he’s at his most exciting. He thrives attacking downhill and uses excellent body control to finish in the paint. Once he begins getting touches inside and the defense collapses, Zac’s vision allows him to get teammates involved and create quality opportunities. His big man has soft hands and the ability to finish in the post, making it difficult for defenses to key in solely on Zac. His playmaking also helps relieve pressure when defenses try to disrupt Academy’s offense. Look for Zac to fill up the stat sheet in the first round.

Zac Borrego was on a mission this week against Belen. Zac was able to use his defense to get his team going early in the game. He played hard nosed defense all game getting steals from the help side and disrupting passing lanes. Turning defense into offense he was able to run the floor hard and make good decisions. He had good vision all night getting his teammates involved and finding soft spots for open shots. Not only was he able to hit a three pointer under pressure but was able to put the game away with a steal to easy layup.
