The Eagles feature four scorers averaging in double figures: [player_tooltip player_id='2306013' first='Malakhi' last='David'] (15.1 points per game), [player_tooltip player_id='2882841' first='Lyric' last='Soria'] (14.6), [player_tooltip player_id='2300005' first='Braddock' last='Beaty'] (11.5) and Josiah Clay (10.3). . .Mayfield (7-1) is ranked No. 11 overall and No. 8 in Class 5A. [player_tooltip player_id='2827503' first='Fernando' last='Corona'] is one of the top players in southern New Mexico. . .Artesia (4-2) is ranked No. 5 in Class 4A. [player_tooltip player_id='1846065' first='Charlie' last='Campbell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1717327' first='Braylon' last='Vega'] are the Bulldogs' top two scorers. . .The Hobbs Tournament includes three schools from Texas. </p>

They feature a balanced offensive attack with four players averaging between eight and 10 points per game in the early going. . .Four-time defending 5A champions Volcano Vista (5-1) are led by high D1 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2111977' first='David' last='Lunn']. . .The most attractive first round matchup could be Sandia-Del Norte. Sandia's sophomore guard tandem of <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2714561' first='George' last='Smith']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2714567' first='Isaiah' last='Brown']</strong> has combined for 36 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists and 9 steals per game in the Matadors' first eight games. Del Norte's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1717253' first='Francois' last='Satchivi']</strong> is averaging 18.8 points and about three 3-pointers per game. This could be a high-scoring affair. </p>
