Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic: Tuesday’s Second 5

The 6-foot-4 forward towered over everyone he matched up against, and he took advantage on the offensive glass and in the post. He has solid touch, and he's super active on the boards, so he's tough to stop at the MIAA level. That being said, he'll need to improve his skills if he wants to play at the next level, but the junior has some time to do so. He shoots it incredibly well for his size and age—he's 6-foot-1 and long—and he should only get better as a shooter as he continues to grow and get stronger. He also drives closeouts well and does a good job getting to two feet and then passing to teammates. The 5-foot-9 guard is undersized, but he's lightning quick and is a great finisher with his right hand. In Tuesday's championship game, he provided consistent energy and scoring punch while defending his behind off and making multiple efforts. The 6-foot guard doesn't seem like he'd be a great athlete, but he rebounds exceptionally well for his size and does a really good job pushing the break once he does so. He can finish at the hoop, and he can find teammates for open threes or dunker spot layups, though his outside shot could use some work (and some arc). He's a menace on the offensive and defensive glass, and he slides his feet incredibly well while also excelling in the passing lanes—he even picked [player_tooltip player_id='2696662' first='Javi' last='Lopez'] clean near half court during Tuesday's championship game. The 6-foot-1 senior finishes well at the rim and also has good touch from just outside the paint, though I'm not sure what his three point shot looks like. Pierce is also a QB on the football team, so he clearly has translatable athletic attributes. We'll see what he decides to do for college, but basketball could be an option.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
