LA VERNE — The ninth annual Classic at Damien is one of the nation's premier post-holiday high school basketball tournaments. The 2025 edition features 144 teams from five states spread across nine divisions and includes many of the country's top prospects. We were in attendance for the first two days at Damien High and below are the top scorers at the wing position we saw among Platinum Division participants.

Alumttar's offensive game is mostly predicated on physicality where he uses his strong 6-foot-4, 200-plus pound frame to attack the rim, initiate and finish through contact but he can also step out and knock down open three-point shots off the catch. The Northeastern State commit scored 26 points in a consolation win over Clovis North Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131780' first='Christian' last='Collins'] | 2026 | St. John Bosco

Collins is one of the country's top recruits and he made sure to let that be known with his performances on Friday and Saturday. The 6-foot-8 wing scored 26 points in a quarterfinal loss to Sunnyslope and 27 points in a first round win over American Fork and did so in every way imaginable. Collins is an elite slasher and finisher in transition and half-court offense, can step out, face-up, and drive by defenders with quick rips and explosive speed and athleticism and he can rise up for perimeter jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1703096' first='Elias' last='Obenyah'] | 2026 | Salesian

Obenyah has a bit of throwback to his game as most of his offense comes from 17 feet and in. The Stanford-signee has dogged determination when driving to the rim and defenders bounce off his college-ready frame when he puts his shoulder into their chest. Where Obenyah really throws defenses for a loop is with his knock down consistency on his mid-range jumper. The 6-foot-4 wing scored 34 points in a quarterfinal loss to Crespi and 22 points in a first round win over La Mirada.

Gabe Sularski | 2026 | Layton Christian (UT)

Sularski is a guy who bullies and shifts his way into paint touches and those usually resulted in him powering through defenders and finishing at the rim. The 6-foot-5 wing uses a quick crossover and change of direction to get into the lane where he can absorb and finish through contact. The unsigned senior had 21 points in a consolation win over La Mirada and 23 points in a first round loss to Crespi.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194355' first='Gene' last='Roebuck'] | 2027 | La Mirada

No matter how locked in an opposing defense is in stopping Roebuck he always seems to find a way to get baskets. The 6-foot-5 wing is as versatile and skilled as they come at the high school level with his three-level scoring ability standing out as his most transferable trait. The junior can score in the post, off mid-range jumpers, in isolation and from behind-the-arc. Roebuck dropped 28 points in a consolation loss to Layton Christian and 24 points in a first round loss to Salesian.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956526' first='SJ' last='Madison'] | 2026 | Redondo Union

Madison is putting together an absolutely dominant winter. After leading Redondo to the championship in the top division of the Tarkanian Classic, he opened the Classic at Damien with two more impressive efforts as he scored 24 points in a quarterfinal win over Damien and 30 points in a first round win over Clovis North. The 6-foot-5 Nevada-bound wing has improved his three-point and mid-range jump shots to the point where he's a guy you really want to get off the line. When you add that into his already explosive and physical finishing ability, you get one of the state's best all-around players.
