Class B Capital City Holiday Shootout Best Big's

Capital City held there third annual shootout tournament starting this past Saturday Dec 27th and then finishing with two more days of live action Monday Dec 29th and Tues Dec 30th. Always a great tournament and fans were not disappointed with what these playmaker's brought to the court. Prephoops was there and we will break down the "Bigs" and the top performers of the the position.    Complete player does everything ya want and then does all the intangibles you like to see from your best player/leader and one for the best players in the whole state. Averaged a high double double for the tournament along with multiple block shots in each game with a handful of assists also. Game changing athleticism along with a high IQ to constantly find open teammates when he is doubled, always under control and plays with a high motor at all times. At 6'4 he's a very good and strong ball handler which makes it hard to press because he will just throw it over the top once he see the trap coming. Has not even had to look to shoot much from the outside but that is a part of his game he's worked on and come later in the year will be much more part of his overall game which is scary.     Only 6'2 but the crafty lefty is an excellent post player as he knows how to get position then use his body to score against bigger post defenders. Inside of 15ft he's got nice touch and gets the benefit of alot of kind bounces, uses the backboard better then majority of players also helps his percentage down low. Has quick hands and is a strong post defender.     This was the first time I got to watch Lawrence in person and he was everything I had heard and more. Had sever highlight dunks in one game 🔥! Not a true post as he is able to step out handles the ball and also hit the three pointer with nice range and touch. When asked he helps brakes the press, just a real nice all-round basketball player. Inside he has nice foot work/soft touch. Has the length and athleticism that you look for as he gets up n down the court better then most players his size.      True post player, tough realy physical kid whos not gonna get moved off his spot once he gets there. Showed nice ability to score when he did get post touches, drop step with left and right handed finishes. Had some some assists out of the post when he was double teamed. Was almost next to impossible to keep him off the offensive boards and rebounded hard on the defensive side also. High motor player/great teammate.     Gage keeps showing why he's one of the better big men around, scoring/rebounding/defending/starting the fast break are all strengths of his. Double doubles are almost marked in the stat book before each game starts. Inside of 15ft hes got as nice touch as any other big you will find, showed he even has a baby hook in this tournament. Tough player and defends multiple positions, has game changing length at 6'6, not as much of a shot blocker as a shot changer but that's splitting hairs in my book, both for those change the way offensive players attack the basket and Gage's presence inside is a huge factor for opposing offense's.     At 6'6 but definitely looks even taller on the court william was strong on both ends of the floor rebounding and scoring inside. Had couple nice dunks off of nice set plays and gets above the rim easily. Runs the floor well and finishes on the move also with nice body control. Was asked to step up and be more of a threat and assertive for the minors this season and so far is doing a nice job of that.      True 5 man and does alot things ya love to see, plays the game the right way understands his strengths and strength is one of his biggest attributes he brings to his team. He's a big body kid who loves contact strong rebounder a real physical presence inside on the offensive and defensive boards. Does alot of the dirty work for his team which frees up his teammates to do what they do best. Chips in on all categories with handful of points/steals/assists and rebounds. Has a high motor and makes the most of his minutes.
