After a weekend full of mostly local and national powers we took in an off the beaten path game with some intriguing prospects on Monday as Intrinsic Downtown traveled to Lycee Francias. Each team had a prospect that we knew going in as Intrinsic Downtown has top 25 2026 post Cedric Carter while Lycee Francias features 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2531972' first='Bonheur' last='Balita'] who caught our attention as a freshman. More prospects emerged in a thriller that went to overtime where Intrinsic went on to win 72-65. We dive into the prospects and game here!

Carter was outstanding in the first half. The 6'8” center did pretty much whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. Opened the game up with a swat followed by a three. Then when coast to coast off a defensive rebound. When he runs the floor hard he is pretty much impossible against this level of competition with his athleticism and size. Reverse layups and several explosive dunks. Caught the ball in traffic and threw it in for an and-1. Knocked in multiple threes in the contest showing legit range. He also forced several that he shouldn't be taking. While this is definitely an area he has improved and we saw at the Prep Hoops EXPO back in August he is most dominant around the hoop. Would like to see him work harder to gain deep post position consistently as he is a force when he does. In the second half and OT Lycee went to a box and one on Carter. He was often pushed out of the paint and was more of a facilitator than scorer. Did get it going late in the game again with a big swat, free throws, and a thunder slam to end it. As a rebounder he rebounds pretty well in his area and while he got a double double could have garnered double the amount of boards with some better positioning and consistent motor on the glass. Defensively he is super impressive being able to switch in ball screens and move his feet on the perimeter. Protects the rim on the back end at a good level volleyball swatting several shots. D'Youville got a steal at the D2 level early in the process. Massive credit to them for getting this done early before anyone saw him as a senior because he is going to put up crazy numbers. All the physical tools are there at 6'8” with broad shoulders and plus athleticism. He is fairly skilled that just needs some refinement and it would not surprise us at all in a couple years to see him at the mid-major level. In this game he had 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

Jervarion Millsap (Intrinsic Downtown – 2028)

Millsap is a thick bodied 6'3” undersized junk yard dog four man. Got to the foul line, was excellent on the offensive glass finished dump offs, and made floaters. Little bit of crafty handles in his bag as he had 18 points.

Antoine Lavender (Intrinsic Downtown – 2027)

Lavender is a 6'4” 2027 wing that brings nice length and athleticism. Got loose in transition, threw several nice passes, and was a good defender. Went for 12 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2829943' first='Jordie' last='Machara'] (Lycee Francais – 2028)

Machara was a breakout player in this game. While we came to see one 2028 it was this sophomore that jumped off the floor. The 6'0” two guard has a silky smooth pull up three point game where he rose over defenders to drain them. Also created on a side-step long ball. He had 25 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2829942' first='Sidy' last='Doumbouya'] (Lycee Francais – 2027)

Intrigued here with the 6'1” point guard that has a projectable frame. Slippery driver that got skinny through traffic for scores. Passes well off live dribbles and converted around the hoop for 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531972' first='Bonheur' last='Balita'] (Lycee Francais – 2028)

Balita is a well-built shooting guard that physically looks the part. Early in the game he was jacking up a ton of threes that were super forced. As he settled in we saw him make a few nice passes, fouled on a straight line take, and did manage to make a couple deep pull up threes. Would like to see him use his burst more off the bounce and have better shot selection. Went for 8 points.
