Woods Cross vs. Murray

Woods Cross had a stellar defensive showing last week, holding West to just 2 points in the first quarter and giving up only 35 points overall. They were led by a trio looking to continue their success against a much better Murray team. With 41 combined points, [player_tooltip player_id='2380893' first='Elliot' last='Bendinger'], [player_tooltip player_id='1724359' first='Madden' last='Johnsen'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1959042' first='Bryson' last='Watson'] look to repeat their performance. In fact, this trio can feed off each other as they share the load. WX will have its hands full with [player_tooltip player_id='1439714' first='Isaiah' last='Beh'], a strong and versatile wing averaging 16 PPG in two early losses, but he looks to help the Spartans bounce back. Look for Nash Hinckley to be more aggressive this game as Murray will try and hang tough with the up-and-coming Wildcats of WX.

Olympus vs. Bingham

This matchup has been an instant classic the past few years. Bingham is coming off a huge win at American Fork and looks to build on that victory while snapping their losing streak against Olympus. [player_tooltip player_id='1278436' first='Luke' last='West'] is playing at a high level, and if he maintains his aggressive style throughout the game, he could have another standout performance. The Miners should focus on [player_tooltip player_id='2388584' first='Lucas' last='Neidig'], who is a physical presence. If he can get opportunities near the basket, he could be difficult to contain. Olympus has multiple players capable of scoring and looks to be dangerous. They recently dominated Hillcrest in their only game. [player_tooltip player_id='1278511' first='Adam' last='Bywater'] and Issac Radford played exceptionally well. Davian Lazuraus' length and shooting could be a game-changer. This one should be an exciting game to watch.

Lehi vs. Highland

Highland put up 90 points against Murray, and you can expect them to keep the pressure on all season long. This matchup between Lehi could be a track meet that favors Highland due to their depth. [player_tooltip player_id='1598266' first='Jordan' last='Oberholtzer'] is too skilled and crafty to stop, and there's no stopping them with so many weapons on the floor for Highland. [player_tooltip player_id='1969236' first='Bodie' last='Dodge'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1278450' first='Isaiah' last='Drisdom'] make up an elite three-headed monster at the guard position. Lehi will open the season in this game as they start a brutal six-game stretch. They will expect a lot from [player_tooltip player_id='1724360' first='Ashton' last='Shewell'].

Layton vs. Alta

Many thought Alta might be vulnerable this year, but not with [player_tooltip player_id='1278438' first='Dash' last='Reiser'] on the floor. The skilled guard knows how to score the ball and has a big-time motor. Coby Goodfellow is ready to make a name for himself, as the duo combined for over 40 points. Layton, on the other hand, is among the best teams in 6A, looking for an early signature win. [player_tooltip player_id='1724368' first='Karter' last='Miller'] put up 27 points in game one, and the team had a very good, balanced scoring attack from the rest of the team, including Nic Anderson, [player_tooltip player_id='2539689' first='Jack' last='Godderidge'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2716619' first='Chase' last='Randall']. This is a great game, and I am looking forward to watching it.

Maple Mountain vs. Timpanogos

One name to know right off the bat is Solomon Krommenhoek; it's a mouthful, and Timpanogos will have their hands full with him. He has been consistent and putting up solid numbers. Maple Mountain is off to a great start, and as their schedule gets tougher, they look to compete with the mighty Timpanogos Timberwolves. Timpanogos, on the other hand, has started the season with two tough opponents as they look to get back on track. [player_tooltip player_id='1966069' first='Jaxen' last='McCuistion'] is picking up where he left off in the summer; he has been balling, and he will be a handful for MHS as they look to slow him down. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='2109153' first='Chaz' last='Rose'] to be impactful in this one.
