It's Saturday, and many coaches and players are immersing themselves in film study. They're evaluating their own performances, scouting potential future opponents, and strategizing how to contain key players. This week, we'll be breaking down several standouts who have made a strong impact this season.

Creating Seperation

[player_tooltip player_id='1771527' first='Isaiah' last='Reiser'], Copper Hills

Reiser is one of the best players in the state, and as such, he is a skilled ball handler and creator, excelling at creating separation from defenders. His footwork is not accidental; it is precise and sharp. In his first game, he tallied 22 points, and we can expect many more performances of that caliber in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='2732870' first='Lincoln' last='Smith'], Bountiful

Smith is off to a fantastic start to the season, averaging over 20 PPG in each of the first two games. With a mixture of outside shot making and inside drives and jumpers, Smith is proving to have the talent to lead a team and to also be among those getting next-level looks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2148482' first='Collin' last='Simmons'], Dixie

Simmons has shown significant improvement over the last few years, establishing himself as one of the top players in the 4A classification. He's demonstrating the potential to excel at the next level. As a prospect, Simmons presents an intriguing profile, particularly for Division II programs. His physical attributes, including his length and mobility, allow him to play the four position effectively. He is also known for his court awareness and ability to make plays when needed.

[player_tooltip player_id='2277256' first='James' last='Matsen'], American Heritage

Matsen is a player who caught our attention last year, and this season, he has more opportunities to showcase his skills as a lengthy wing. Standing at 6'5", Matsen possesses an excellent shooting touch. He is poised to be a key player for American Heritage High School (AHHS) as they aim for a strong state tournament run. His potential extends to the collegiate level, making him an attractive prospect for Division III and Junior College programs.

Jrue Miller, Rowland Hall

Miller is a player with an elite motor, consistently making an impact on both ends of the court. He's a thrilling player to watch. In a recent game against South Summit, Miller showcased his aggressive scoring ability, hitting shots from all areas of the court, including several impressive three-pointers from beyond the arc. Despite attending a small school, Miller possesses a remarkably high-level game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1278450' first='Isaiah' last='Drisdom'], Highland

Drisdom is on a mission this season, and you can expect the best from him every night. The Highland team is playing at a high level, and Drisdom is playing the right way. As he enters his senior year, Drisdom is an intriguing prospect. A true scouting report would simply be to hope to contain him as much as possible, but his game is evolving, and he will take what you give him. With his shot being much improved, most teams are going to be in trouble.
