Over the past couple of weeks, I've been previewing some standout players across all divisions of the MIAA. Though prep schools get lots of the love when it comes to basketball exposure, there is still absolutely a good amount of talent in the MIAA.

That being said, let's continue on with some sleepers who could break out this year.

Doughty played a solid role on Beverly High School's team last season as a freshman but is still relatively unknown because of how talented Beverly is. The 6-foot-2 guard is an excellent shooter who has totally figured out his form, footwork and off ball movement — something very few shooters his age have mastered. He also plays very hard defensively and can guard a variety of positions as a result of his combination of size and lateral speed. Doughty is going to be an excellent role player for Beverly this season and will probably look a lot different as he continues to grow and get stronger. Once Klass and Torres are gone, the team could be his for the taking. Bright future.

Cautela isn't the most well-known MIAA player, but he's going to be a key cog for a very (in my humble opinion) underrated Lexington team heading into this season. The 6-foot guard can play both on and off the ball because of his ability to handle the rock against pressure but also his three-point shooting and cutting ability. He plays hard on both ends, he has a never-ending motor, and he can play within an offensive system pretty effectively. Alongside some other studs at Lexington, Cautela will fit right in and make a big impact if I had to guess. He can be a role player but also counted on for an offensive punch.

McDonald isn't exactly a sleeper after some of his big time performances last season, but I still don't think he's talked about enough. The 6-foot-2 guard has one of the more consistent shots in the entire MIAA and can shoot it off the catch or the dribble. Even though he isn't the tallest, his quick release and high IQ allow him to get his shot off against bigger and quicker defenders. McDonald is also a strong and tough athlete who can clean up the boards and plays quite hard on both ends. He will be Walpole's best player this season and should probably be garnering lots of prep school interest.

Singh is an incoming freshman for Catholic Memorial who might not make the biggest impact on varsity at the beginning of the season. He's only 5-foot-10 and likely will have an adjustment period playing at this level. But he'll be ready to play soon enough. He is an extremely skilled combo-guard who can shoot it from three, score from the mid range, and attack the basket and take contact while finishing. He also has great passing vision and is well beyond his years in terms of feel for the game. Watch out for Singh to make a push for Catholic Memorial once he fully settles into high school hoops.

Jackson is a bulldozer. For only being a sophomore, he has incredible strength and toughness in the paint. He can hang with any big in the MIAA because of his physicality, and he'll always play both ends of the floor. He has active hands and feet on the defensive side of the ball and can guard a variety of different offensive players because of his size and athleticism. Offensively, he has some really nice post footwork and a knack for finishing against other bigs even though he's undersized. He'll be a key player for Bridgewater-Raynham this season — a team that could make a serious run.
