The Tea Titans enter the new season as one of the most intriguing Class AA programs in the state, guided by head coach Drew Weber — widely regarded as one of South Dakota's sharpest young basketball minds. Weber has steadily built the Titans into a respected, competitive, and tough-to-prepare-for squad, and this year's group may be his most explosive yet.

Tea brings back a talented core highlighted by dangerous offensive firepower — a team capable of scoring in bunches and stretching defenses to their limit. The Titans have shooters, slashers, athletes, and length across multiple positions, making them a matchup challenge every night. While still young in spots, this roster gained meaningful varsity experience last season and returns with confidence, chemistry, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to win at the AA level.

With star talent leading the way, an exciting blend of emerging contributors behind them, and Weber's fast-paced modern system driving the identity, expectations are high inside the Tea gym. The Titans will be a team to watch, and if everything clicks, they'll be right in the mix when postseason talk begins.

The Tea Titans enter the 2025–26 season with stability at the helm, as Head Coach Drew Weber returns for his 7th year in Tea and 13th overall as a head coach. With a career record of 169–93, Weber has built a strong foundation for sustained success. He is supported by assistants Clay Robinson, Garett Johnson, Sam Scholten, and Sam Willard — a staff that mixes experience with fresh energy.

Tea finished last season 10–11, falling to Spearfish in SD16, but gained valuable experience along the way with a young roster that is now maturing into one of the more exciting squads to watch. Leading the charge is 6'3 junior [player_tooltip player_id='2250284' first='Grifin' last='Wiebenga'], a returning All-ESD and Second-Team All-State standout who ranks among the premier players in Class AA. A future college-level guard/wing, Wiebenga does a bit of everything and will now be asked to step forward as a vocal team leader. Joining him is 6'1 junior scorer [player_tooltip player_id='2132816' first='Gavin' last='Shawd'], who turned into Tea's most consistent performer down the stretch last year and has the ability to fill it up from anywhere on the floor.

Another key returning piece is 6'3 sophomore athletes [player_tooltip player_id='2442386' first='Mitch' last='Grant'] — a defensive stopper who guarded top scorers as a freshman and now looks to expand his offensive game — and 6'3 senior [player_tooltip player_id='1911442' first='Kayden' last='Williamson'], whose length and defensive versatility allow him to guard all five positions. The Titans will also benefit from the size and promise of 6'8 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2723975' first='Blake' last='Lundin'], an offensively skilled young big man with high upside, and the toughness of 6'3 junior [player_tooltip player_id='2550489' first='Lane' last='Sieber'], who brings physicality and a team-first mentality.

Depth will come from guards like [player_tooltip player_id='2562401' first='Caden' last='Bohnenberger'] and [player_tooltip player_id='3141056' first='Daschle' last='Lowery'] — both high-effort perimeter defenders — as well as the front-court presence of 6'7 senior [player_tooltip player_id='2562407' first='Trey' last='Severin'], who adds rim protection and physicality. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2723974' first='Lucas' last='Randall'] gives the Titans another emerging two-way contributor who could push for varsity minutes as the season develops.

One difficult storyline is the loss of senior [player_tooltip player_id='1641166' first='Brenner' last='Konrad'] to a torn ACL — a major blow to Tea's depth and frontcourt rotation. The staff will look for multiple players to step up and fill that role by committee.

The outlook for Tea is optimistic. This is still a young team, but one with meaningful varsity experience and two legitimate high-end players in Wiebenga and Shawd. With talent, length, athleticism, and a rising competitive edge, the Titans aim to surpass last year's performance and position themselves to make noise when March arrives.
