Prep Hoops Missouri got a chance to watch the semifinals of the St. Francis Borgia Turkey Tourney on Friday night via the Magical Stream Machine. Here is a look at some of the top guards that we watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2346078' first='Emery' last='Woehrmann'] (Borgia): The 6'2" 2027 guard scored a game high 31 points in the Knights victory over Confluence. That was following up on his record-setting 48-point performance against Pacific in the opening round. Emery is one of the most prolific offensive players in the state. He has deep shooting range and he can get his shot off the dribble with his creative handles. He can beat defenders on the straight line and he has a nice hesi move and a step back 3-pointer where he creates great separation. He can also locate teammates as he had six assists on the evening.

Terry Cornell (McCluer North): A 5'11" 2026 guard who really had a big impact in the Stars victory over Bayless. He really led the charge in the fourth quarter when the Stars turned a close game into a 19-point victory. He was constantly touching the paint on dribble penetration and scoring on floaters and runners. His on-ball defensive pressure was also excellent as he was able to keep turning opposing ball handlers and being disruptive.

[player_tooltip player_id='2920399' first='Brandon' last='Wiley'] (Bayless): A 6'3" 2028 guard who is one of the more talented young backcourt players in the St. Louis area. He has good size and he has a smooth offensive game with the ability to score at all three levels. He can split the double team and get into the lane and get a bucket. He creates good separation off the dribble to score from the mid-range or from beyond the 3-point line. He is also reliable off the catch from long distance.

Terron Brooks (McCluer North): A 6'0" 2026 point guard who plays the game in an old school manner. The smooth southpaw goes at his own pace and he's hard to speed up. His handles are crafty and he can distribute the ball very well. He penetrates well to hit the short jumper off the glass and he can also hit open 3-pointers. He has quick hands on defense and he also makes multiple efforts to get to loose balls.

John Gildehaus (Borgia): The 5'11" 2026 guard had a strong performance against Confluence as he scored 16 points. He did an excellent job of playing off top scorer [player_tooltip player_id='2346078' first='Emery' last='Woehrmann'] with his ability to move without the ball to the open spots. He was on point from long distance as he knocked down three 3-pointers, which each one he hit seeming to put a charge into the crowd and his teammates.

Mekhi Owens (McCluer North): A 6'4" 2026 guard who has good size and a strong motor, which led to very positive results. He attacked the basket with strength and was able to score through contact. He was also active on the offensive boards as he scored on multiple putbacks. He is a versatile player who can guard on the perimeter and also in the low post against bigger players.

Brandon Stewart (Bayless): A 6'1" 2027 guard who did a good job of keeping the Bronchos in the game against McCluer North with his perimeter shooter. He sat in the corner and stayed ready and was able to hit multiple drive and kick 3-pointers. He also beat the close out on one occasion and knocked a one-dribble mid-range jumpers. I saw him at a summer event at Webster Groves and he shot the ball at a high clip, so this was not a fluke.

[player_tooltip player_id='2954184' first='Cornell' last='Williams Jr']. (McCluer North): A 6'2" 2028 guard who is an impressive young player who plays with high energy. He was very good in the opening round against Owensville. He hit multiple open 3-pointers, but he was very effective when he was scoring on slashing drives in the lane. He has a nice touch on the move as he uses the backboard very well. His energy and tenacity on the defensive end was also very good.

[player_tooltip player_id='2423603' first='Ethan' last='Chambers'] (Borgia): A 6'2" 2026 wing guard who had a solid all-around game with nine points, eight rebounds, a steal and a block. His all-purpose game is very valuable to the team's success. He made some good interior passes on the block and he was hustling for rebounds and loose balls. He can handle the ball if needed and he hit an open 3-pointer. He can also operate from the elbow with his ability to drive it or hit the jumper.

Blake Wilson (Bayless): A 5'9" 2026 guard who is a bundle of speed and high energy. He used his burst to get to the basket on straight line drives to the basket. He also dropped some impressive dimes while going full speed off the dribble. He is also very aggressive on the defensive end. He was getting deflections and he also rose up and blocked a shot.

Brian Matthews (Confluence): A 5'6" 2026 point guard who has good quickness and some good athleticism. On his first touch of the game against Borgia, he used his burst to get the mid-range and he elevated and hit a jumper over a taller defender, which was impressive. He has an effective cross-over move to create separation to slice into the lane to get a bucket in traffic.
