Prep Hoops Missouri got on the stream on Wednesday night to take a look at the semifinals of the 99th Annual Arcadia Valley Thanksgiving Tournament. The matchups were No. 1 seed South Iron vs. No. 4 seed Fredericktown and No. 2 Arcadia Valley vs. No. 3 West County. Both games went down to the wire. Here is a look at those two games and the standout players from the semifinals.

SOUTH IRONS SURVIVES FREDERICKTOWN

Top-seeded South Iron had a battle on its hands from Fredericktown, but the Panthers survived to take a 43-39 victory.

The Panthers were led by 6'3" 2028 forward [player_tooltip player_id='2676848' first='Cason' last='Chilton (pictured), who scored 14 points. Chilton did most of his offensive damage in the lane. He hit a nice jump hook over the left shoulder. He was slashing through traffic to get buckets. He has an effective float game and he also has a nice turnaround jumper in the lane. I liked he took the responsibility of getting those tough buckets down the stretch of a close game.

South Iron also got 11 points from 6'0" 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2393024' first='Carter' last='St. Gemme']. A transfer from Lesterville, St. Gemme had a slow start offensively, but he got busy in the second half as he scored 10 of his 11 points. He hit a mid-range jumper off the bounce along with a 3-pointer. He scored 23 points in the Panthers' first-round game.

Another 2028 guard who had an impressive showing was Drazic Dinkins, who scored eight points. He is a good athlete who plays with a high motor, which kept him in the middle of the action. He was attacking the basket, while also getting steals and deflections. He scored the go-ahead bucket with 45 seconds left to give the Panthers the lead to stay. [player_tooltip player_id='3139753' first='Ryder' last='Middleton'] is a 2027 guard who came off the bench to provide instant offense. He hit a 3-pointer on his first touch when he entered the game. He showed a versatile offensive game as he hit a mid-range jumper off the bounce along with a short jumper in the lane off the flash post. Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2719459' first='Brady' last='Crum'] is a 6'6" 2026 forward who can stretch out the defense with his 3-point shooting. He could also back down a smaller defender and shoot a turnaround jumper over him.

Fredericktown played a very competitive game despite being without standout 2028 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2569211' first='Tucker' last='Reutzel'], who was out with an injury. Reutzel is one of the top players in the Parkland area. The Black Cats were led by 5'10" 2028 guard Daryion Catchings, who scored a team-high 15 points, all of which came on five 3-pointers. He had a nice perimeter stroke against the Panthers' zone defense.

Blake Terry, a 5'10" 2026 guard, is the heart of the team with his competitive spirit. His energy and passion were relentless throughout the game. He was constantly putting pressure on the defense with his driving ability. He was also constantly in the right position on defense and making good rotations to get steals. 2027 guard David Slinkard chipped in with 11 points. He is another player who can knock down open 3-pointers. Guard Mason Cureton is a 2028 who came off the bench to score eight points. He scored on a twisting drive in the lane and a nice runner along the baseline. He also had a big steal and layup in the fourth quarter.

******

ARCADIA VALLEY OUTLASTS WEST COUNTY IN OVERTIME

Host Arcadia Valley and West County put on an exciting game in which host A-V took home a 58-55 victory in overtime.

The star of the game for Arcadia Valley was 5'10" 2026 guard Kaiden Keith, who had a game-high 27 points and nine rebounds. He really took over the game down the stretch with a number of his teammates fouled out. He plays much bigger than his size with his athleticism and sheer tenacity. He was scoring on slashing drives and offensive rebounds with his quick second and third jump around the basket. He was the best player that I watched during the two semifinal games. [player_tooltip player_id='2837006' first='Jarel' last='Jackson'] is a 6'0" 2027 point guard with a thick body and the ability to maneuver in the lane. He is shifty and he was hitting short jumpers in the lane. He could also rebound well from the guard position.

West County was led by 6'1" 2027 junior [player_tooltip player_id='2836991' first='Brody' last='Simily'], who scored 15 points. Simily was tough to handle in the paint as he was very effective on the drive and scoring on tough takes. He was drawing contact and getting three-point plays. West County also got 11 points from 2026 guard Wyatt Scherfflus, who was a picture of constant movement throughout the game. He was slashing off the dribble and cutting when he didn't have the ball. He also had a quick first step to set up his driving ability.
