2026 Boys State Tournament Moves Back a Week
Pending a vote of the board which will likely be approved, the Minnesota State High School League will be pushing the Boys Basketball State Tournament back a week. The current dates are scheduled as March 18th through the 21st and we assume that will become March 25th through the 28th after the vote today.
Why?
The University of Minnesota has a conflict with the date that is set at Williams Arena so the annual event has to be moved back to accompany this conflict. The Target Center is booked the week of the 18th through the 21st and the tremendous atmosphere of Williams Arena is the best location for the tournament, so the games will take place one week later.
We are not aware of the conflict that the University has but we are aware that the board vote is likely to be approved sometime soon.
