RCS Freshman Championships: 2029 Hot Start Prospects

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Atascocita High School had the distinct honor of hosting the freshman fall championships this preseason. This event is put on annually by RCS Sports and showcases some of the top 9th grade teams in the Houston area. This also lets scouts, coaches, and media alike have a chance to lay eyes on and examine the newest high school prospects. He can function as a primary ballhandler, but his best attribute is shooting off the dribble from deep range. His long wingspan helps him defensively in passing lanes and he got to the rim on offense at will with some athletic finishes. One of the speedier and more complete guards in attendance, Jacob scored from all three levels and was an underrated presence running the floor and scoring. Smith has a good touch shooting the ball and has good court vision/awareness when running the one slot. He has a good midrange jumper and can knock it down when left open. Chase also uses his strong frame and height to bully his way to the paint against smaller mismatches and take advantage of easy post ups at the rim. He knocked down long range bombs, helped handle the ball against the press, and was instrumental in defending the perimeter and paint.
