On The Board: Texas DI Committed Prospects 5’6″- 6’1″

The state of Texas continues to produce elite backcourt talent year after year, and this group of committed guards standing between 5'6” and 6'1” is no exception. Each prospect brings a unique blend of pace, toughness, and skill that translates directly to the Division I level. From electric floor generals to explosive scoring threats, these guards embody the competitive, fearless brand of basketball that has become synonymous with Texas hoops. College programs across the country have taken notice—and for good reason, as this class continues to raise the bar for guard play in the Lone Star State.

What an incredible journey for one of the smallest yet most skilled prospects in the country. A three-year starter at one of the largest high schools in North America, [player_tooltip player_id='1593935' first='Nehemiah' last='Lawrence'] has proven that size doesn't define production. He's an electric two-way floor general capable of scoring at all three levels and facilitating at a high level. His elite strength, burst, and relentless motor separate him—he consistently wins matchups against taller guards through IQ and toughness. If he were [player_tooltip player_id='2557630' first='6'0' last='']”, he'd be in the national top-10 conversation. For young small guards, Lawrence is a perfect model for how to maximize every tool in the game.

✅ Elite strength, quickness, and motor at his size
✅ Three-level scorer and high-level facilitator
✅ Floor general with advanced poise and competitiveness

[player_tooltip player_id='1568449' first='Amare' last='Guerra'] is an undersized but fearless floor general who consistently impacts every area of the box score. Guerra has a knack for making timely plays—whether it's creating for others, finishing through traffic, or applying pressure full-court.
