OHSAA Division V Preseason 6-10

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The OHSAA basketball season is just under a month away and we're previewing the top teams in each Division to give our readers the insight on which teams project to be in the mix for a state championship come March.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">6. Chesapeake</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top teams from southeast Ohio a year ago, Chesapeake returns a majority of their core which is led by 2027 star [player_tooltip player_id='2716810' first='Maddox' last='Kazee']. Look for the Panthers first goal to defeat Fairland this season, the rival Dragons swept them to win the OVC championship once again but the Panthers have the returning talent to be the preseason favorites on paper.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">7. Harvest Prep</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Warriors don't have the star power they sometimes have after Brandon Roddy graduated and [player_tooltip player_id='2294839' first='Antwon' last='Pollard'] transferred out but with a hungry group of guards and an experienced big in [player_tooltip player_id='2907623' first='Ephraim' last='Campbell'] controlling the paint, Harvest Prep will still be a very tough out on a nightly basis.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">8. Indian Lake</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2125732' first='Brodey' last='Reisinger'] had a monster weekend at midwest live as the power wing guard is a pure natural scorer. With the strength and basketball IQ to play on balance when attacking the basket, Reisinger finds his most success off two feet. After finishing third in the CBC at 19.5 PPG, I could see Reisinger running away with the conference scoring lead this winter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">9. Fairview</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Having one of their best football seasons in school history, the Warriors expect to be back in the mix for a CVC title on the hardwood this winter. The duo of [player_tooltip player_id='2328306' first='Will' last='Allen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2328307' first='Burke' last='Lowry'] has taken the Warriors program to new heights in both sports with the first home playoff game at James B Daley Stadium on Friday night. With only one started graduating from last season, Fairview expects to be even better than their 18-6 CVC championship season from a year ago.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">10. Garfield Heights Trinity</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Trinity lost the conference title to Fairview but got their revenge by eliminating them from the playoffs last season. After graduating Cooper Hughes, the team will look for some younger pieces to take on leadership roles. [player_tooltip player_id='2842847' first='Justin' last='Sims'] has a lot of talent and could take that next step into becoming one of the dominant small school wings in northeast Ohio. I also like their back-court that is quick and aggressive pressuring the ball on the defensive end of the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
