The high school season in Southern California is just under a month away and we wanted to take some time to shine a spotlight on some players who are poised to make a big leap as players and recruits. Below we take a look at six junior shooting guards and wings who we believe will boost their stock.

[player_tooltip player_id='2916690' first='Damarion' last='Landry'] | Oak Hills

Landry's combination of size, athleticism and natural scoring feel makes him one of the more intriguing untapped potential prospects in the area. The long, wiry 6-foot-5 wing is most effective when filling lanes and slashing to the rim in transition but also possesses the feel, ball skills, off-dribble creation and perimeter shooting ability to impact the offensive end as an isolation scorer. Landry is still a raw prospect when it comes to basketball IQ and intricacies of the game but the upside is undeniable.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815160' first='David' last='Conerly'] | Inglewood

Conerly has shown flashes of what he can be over the last two years and this season is the one where he could put it all together and turn that talent and upside into consistent production. The 6-foot-6 wing is a quick-twitch vertical and lateral athlete and the addition of his ball handling ability allows him to attack the basket and score at the rim off the bounce. Conerly has also shown the ability to use his ball skills and athleticism to get into and knock down rhythm jumpers off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='2439033' first='Jackson' last='McCall'] | St. Augustine

McCall made waves in the San Diego hoop scene after transferring from San Marcos to traditional regional power St. Augustine which further cemented the area's best front-court group. McCall is a versatile wing/forward whose combination of court vision, basketball IQ and ball handling ability make him a mismatch at the three and four spots. McCall is best as a connector who can operate in a point forward role in multiple spots on the floor and has the opportunity to take his scoring repertoire to another level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435388' first='Jasiah' last='Williams'] | Crespi

Williams is a hyper athletic wing who brings an explosive finishing ability to the offensive end and elite instincts to the defensive end of the floor. Offensively, the 6-foot-4 wing is a versatile piece whose vertical and downhill athleticism, combined with his body control, to slash to the rim and finish in transition. Williams has shown growth as a perimeter scorer and is a capable three-point shooter with time and space who can also get to a mid-range pull-up jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436267' first='Omari' last='Cuffe'] | Loyola

Cuffe is a high energy and high motor wing with intriguing positional size, length and athleticism. The 6-foot-5 junior uses his effort and physical traits well on the defensive end to guard multiple positions, clean the defensive glass and jump start transition opportunities. Offensively, Cuffe's energy and pursuit of missed shots results in second chance opportunities and he can also face-up, drive strongly to his right hand and score through contact at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436283' first='Tre' last='Cradle'] | Sage Hill

Cradle is one of the most athletic players in Southern California who doesn't get as much attention as he should. The 6-foot-4 wing is a physical, explosive and strong-bodied junior whose quick elevation allows him to rise above rim protecters and finish or drive to the paint, initiate contact, stay on balance, and finish through it. Cradle brings a high motor, no-nonsense approach to the defensive end that allows him to guard multiple positions.
