He is a long wing player that plays clean up man and rim runner for a team full of shooters. Winning basketball requires sacrifice and specialty players. Davis defends, rebounds and finishes. He has a great basketball frame and his development will continue because of his consistent work ethic. He is a solemn competitor that just works on the court and that characteristic is what has earned him three recent offers. Aggressive. He is a downhill player that fights every possession to get both feet in the paint to create for his team mates. He plays with a high IQ and just works when he is in the game. In summer competition much like in the showcase he just seems to make things happen when the ball is in his hands. He is quick and crafty around the rim and that makes him dangerous to defenders because he looks for contact and has the strength to finish through that contact. He is a player that I have to admit that I overlooked because of the simplicity in his game. He understands the angles of the game and does not play the game with flash, but when you check the stat sheets all of the production is there. He controls the paint with poise which does not happen often, and even though he has the skill he is content with playing a strong complimentary role. Coaches at the next level will like his size, but his poise and control will surely get him more attention this upcoming season. His game is improving at a steady level, but adding his size and IQ he is making a name for himself around the state as one to watch. He is kind of a hybrid player because he can shoot, rebounds well and can get to the rim without dominating the ball. He is bigger, stronger and faster than last year and he uses all of this to score efficiently. Nick will be another big piece of the Calvary puzzle as they will be a top team in the state this year. Langley is long, athletic, runs the floor well and has a nice jump shot. Byrd has not been an intimidating team in the past, but looking at him and their big man Wardlaw this could be the start of something.
