The high school season starts up next week and several Freshmen are expected to make major impacts this upcoming season. The early indications are that this 2029 class is extremely good. There are a few players who had D1 scholarship offers before they entered the high school hallways. This list is definitely going to change A TON over the next 4 years. And there are likely multiple players who will finish top ten in the class that no one on the Prep Hoops staff has seen yet. Here's a look at the top point guards in the inaugural 2029 class rankings. This does not include players who are in the top ten.

Ferguson is a tough guard who is physically stronger than most kids in his class. Able to get to the paint with finesse or by using "bully ball", Braxton is very talented and could be under-ranked at this point. It will be interesting to see Ferguson's game to continue to develop. If he can improve his three point shooting, his ceiling is pretty high since he is a good athlete with a strong build.

House was a tough one to place in the initial rankings because I've only seen him one time and no one else on staff has seen him play. Cam is a smaller guard but he clearly knows how to run the show and has had a lot of success at the AAU level in the past year. House averaged double figures for Meade County last season and should end up scoring multiple thousands of points in his high school career.

Mack is a name that has been known in the 2029 class for several years already. Hold an offer from San Jose State going into his freshman season, Tre is a name to monitor as a potential impact player in Louisville this season after playing at Taylor County for the early portion of the season last year. A guard who excels at attacking in the open court, Mack put up very solid shooting splits of 42-35-90 in 10 games at Taylor last season. If he can replicate those numbers moving forward, Tre will put up a bunch of points at Eastern this season.

Hobson has an opportunity to be one of the more impactful freshmen in the 11th region this season. Coming off a strong AAU season, Cameron had a really good showing at our freshman event in August and looks like he's primed for a big freshman campaign at Dunbar. A good shooter who can also finish at a high rate, Hobson needs to continue to tighten his ball handling, especially in traffic. Certainly a name to keep an eye on in Lexington.

One of the better guards at the freshman showcase in August, Morris is part of a very good 2029 group at Mayfield. Gabe has a good skill level and IQ but what stands out the most when watching him is his competitive drive and how hard he plays. He still has room for improvement with his shooting and will need to continue adding bulk to his wiry frame as he gets older. Morris is certainly going to make a big impact this season for Coach Croft's squad.
