I mentioned in my last story that there will be a lot to see in the 2028 class over the course of the 2025 season.

There's talent in the sophomore class. The season is almost here.

Here are 5 prospects to keep an eye on:

[player_tooltip player_id='2194605' first='Cadence' last='Collins'], Chattanooga Prep: Collins has accomplished a lot so far in his high school career. He's won two-consecutive state titles in Class A. Collins has been the starting point guard for the past two seasons. And to be honest, he has fared well as the team's floor general. He's a small, tough, gritty guard that's going to play hard on both ends of the floor. Collins doesn't shy away from contact. He can make shots from the perimeter. Collins is a reliable ball handler. The Sentinels are in Class 2A this upcoming season and will look to win another state title. Collins will have to lead the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2796643' first='Kylon' last='Terry'], Fayette Ware: The time is now for Terry. He's going to go from being a solid role player to a quality starter in 2025. After the Wildcats lost last year's seniors Tacarien Freeman and Quaylan Hampton, Terry's opportunity to lead Fayette Ware became clear. His offensive production will be vital. Terry's defensive presence will need to be tenacious. His voice on the court will need to be heard. The Wildcats, under head coach Demarius Chearis, have gotten spoiled with postseason success. But, they're still hungry for a state title. Let's just hope Terry is licking his chops at playing for a Class 3A state title as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2869497' first='Lucas' last='Graves'], Brentwood Academy: The Eagles have their big 3 in 2025 ([player_tooltip player_id='2133797' first='Bryson' last='Wade'], [player_tooltip player_id='2194624' first='Eli' last='Brown'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2543986' first='James' last='Humphreys']), but the other players around them will need to be solid. Graves is in a good spot for success as a solid rotational guard. He's a 6-foot-3 guard that can space the floor with his shooting. Graves could be a prospect that shoots in the mid-30s from 3-point range this upcoming season. His value is simmering with excitement. I would buy the dip.

[player_tooltip player_id='2694838' first='Jamarion' last='Chapman'], Christian Brothers: Chapman's role will be heavy due to senior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1763152' first='BJ' last='Brown']'s lower body injury. Chapman will have to be the Purple Wave's best guard. He will need to score in double figures most nights. Chapman is a talented guard. He's comfortable taking and making mid-range jump shots. Chapman will sit down and guard. Whenever he's on the floor, Chapman will be productive.

[player_tooltip player_id='2610390' first='Carter' last='Cox'], Jo Byrns: Cox has individual accolades heading into his sophomore season. He's already an All-District and All-Region player. At 6-5, Cox has the makeup to be a productive shooting guard. He shoots the ball well. Cox finishes well around the rim. He has the ability to take his defender off the dribble. Cox plays hard. By the end of the season, Cox should have more accolades to brag about.
