November is almost over, meaning the high school basketball season is nearly a month away. The 2028 class is looking to make a big impact on the hardwood, especially in Group 2. Here are the 2028 Group 2 guard prospects to track this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194627' first='Tyree' last='Thorp'], 6'0 PG Camden

Thorp transferred into the High this summer and is looking to make an impact right away. The 6'0 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and knows how to finish around the rim. Thorp rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure and can also score in the mid-range. He can also play off the ball and uses his length to get deflections on the defensive end. Thorp is a talented guard prospect who should impact the game at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763587' first='Anthony' last='Serini'], 6'0 SG Holmdel

Serini had a debut season for the Hornets and should have an even bigger sophomore season. The 6'0 guard has a good first step, which he uses to get to his spot on the floor and finishes nicely around the basket. Serini rarely forces jumpers in the half court and sets his feet before he shoots. He works hard on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. Serini had a couple of big games down the stretch for Holmdel and is looking to carry it over into the 2025-26 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2786649' first='Avery' last='Cano'], 5'10 CG Lyndhurst

Cano is one of the top shooters in the 2028 class and is looking to put it on display this season. The 5'10 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down jumpers in bunches. Cano moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He gets deflections on the defensive end and is an underrated rebounder. Cano is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should torch the nets from distance this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2788641' first='Gavin' last='Roach'], 6'4 CG/PG West Side

Roach has the ability to play either guard spot and should put it on display this season. The 6'4 guard uses his handle to get into the lane and can make shots through contact. Roach uses his size to see over his defender and can knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and can push the pace in transition. Roach is a versatile guard prospect who will impact the game at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2785142' first='Lochlyn' last='Marsh'], PG/CG Delaware Valley

Marsh filled up the stat sheet during his first varsity season and should do it again during his sophomore season. He has a good shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Marsh is more than just a shooter as he can also get into the lane off the bounce and can also find his open teammates in the half court. He is a strong rebounder and uses his quick hands to get deflections on defense. Marsh had six assists with at least eight assists and will look to display his playmaking ability throughout the course of the season.
