We are compiling a list of the most difficult-to-guard players across the state, covering all graduating classes. While we can't feature every deserving player, here are some standouts who have caught our attention.

[player_tooltip player_id='1278439' first='Jamyn' last='Sondrup'], Springville

[player_tooltip player_id='1278439' first='Jamyn' last='Sondrup'], hailing from Springville, stands at an imposing 6'10. While his height is certainly a significant factor, it's not the only thing that makes him a tough matchup. Teams recognize they can't completely shut him down, so they focus on slowing him. Sondrup is a versatile player who excels both inside the paint, taking full advantage of his size, and can also step outside to shoot from beyond the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id='1278442' first='Carlo' last='Mulford'], Herriman

There were only 2 teams last year that kept Mulford from scoring in double-digits, and that was a team in Oklahoma and Corner Canyon on two occasions. Mulford will tally more than 500 points this coming season, and he had a green light last year. You can expect that to turn into a super green light this coming season. The one thing I like about Mulfords game is that he can score a lot of points, not going crazy from beyond the arc. Look for him to shoot the ball more from deep this coming season. This kid is hard to guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1439711' first='Bryce' last='Mella'], American Fork

Mella is a player who has played every position and guarded every position at the high school varsity level. He has jumped center and played the PG position, but now he is just a kid who can score anywhere on the floor and is just a tough cover. Mella can shoot the 3, he can play with his back to the basket, and he can get in the lane and to the free-throw line. That is reason enough that he is among the toughest players to defend. This season, you can expect him to be out there hunting for shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1278502' first='Gavin' last='Lowe'], Olympus

Even if you know what he is going to do, he is still tough to stop. He led all of 5A in scoring this past season, and it would not be crazy to say that he leads the state in scoring this coming season. He is lightning quick and I think he is going to score a lot of points n transition this coming season. Against some of the best defensive teams, he went off for 20 points or more.

[player_tooltip player_id='1786751' first='JJ' last='Serre'], Wastach

Keep an eye on this kid. He has the potential to be a very good player at the next level, possibly D2 or NAIA, with even more upside. Serre possesses a quick first step that will only improve with time. He will be able to elevate over defenders and beat the help-side player. His shooting is also expected to become even more accurate. Serre is projected to be one of the toughest players to guard this coming season.
